If you’re like most Lost fans, you just know that you’re going to have plenty of questions when the ABC series finally comes to an end in May.
Well, it turns out that your local bookstore may hold the answers you’re looking for. DK Publishing and ABC is releasing the Lost Encyclopaedia.
Details on the book are minimal at the moment but, according to Amazon, the book will be written by Tara Bennett and Paul Terry. Bennett has authored several official movie and series companion guides in the past.
The description reads: Featuring more than 400 pages and over 1500 images, the Lost Encyclopedia will be a comprehensive guide to the characters, items, locations, plotlines, relationships, and mythologies from all six seasons of the landmark series aired on ABC-TV and produced by ABC Studios. Created in full collaboration with ABC Entertainment and ABC Studios, this will be the first and only fully licensed and comprehensive reference to all things Lost, and it includes a foreword by executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.
The hardcover book is priced at $45 ($29.70 if you pre-order from Amazon) but you’ll have to wait until August 24th to get it… unless you happen to have a talent for time travel.
They’ve got to be kidding if they think I’m going to buy (especially for that much!) a book detailing a bunch of things that, it turns out in the end, don’t (and never did) matter, since the whole things seems to just be “Jack’s journey into the afterlife and learning to let go.”
I hope they bring it all to a good conclusion. They have a lot of questions to answer.
At least they’ll get a chance for a proper finish. Too many shows are getting yanked these days before they even get a chance to be seen!
