Looks like Lucifer Morningstar isn’t quite a lucky devil any longer. His show’s ratings have fallen year after year and so, FOX has cancelled its Lucifer TV show. Sadly, fans of the supernatural crime drama won’t be seeing a fourth season this fall.
A FOX comedy-drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases.
Lucifer: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Lucifer is averaging a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. While those declines aren’t huge, the series has seen dips in its ratings each season and the series could easily have been cancelled before. Apparently, the ratings dipped just a bit too low.
Out of the scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking, Lucifer ranks 13th in terms of its demo performance and rises to 10th place in terms of average total audience size.
Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson broke the bad news this afternoon.
So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe.

The defacto series finale airs Monday, May 14th.

I am so sad to see the Lucifer series canceled. I would rather watch this than watch games shows and different singing shoes with contestants on them every week. Dont get new wrong its entertaining but this was Modesto a sci-fi crime series. I wish they would stop taking the good shows off television.
I am very disappointed. But reality which I can’t stand wins. Fox had a good show. Really getting to point don’t need a Tv. Everytime I like a show that we watch as family fox or amc or abc cancells the show for remakes our parents watched or another reality show of people arguing. If I wanted I would have stayed married. I truly enjoy this show, Even though it is another “cop show”, the main character is someone that you enjoy watching because he is so funny with his one line sarcastic comments. My household will be deeply saddened if this show ends.
So sad 🙁 I loved the show. Told all my friends about it and that its a must see! And I’m from Sweden. I really hope they continue the show despite low ratings for us who loved the show 😉
Writing had gotten worse after season 1. Co-Star Lauren German NEVER did show promo’s. Chemistry between her and Lucifer went to ‘Hell”. Without the Devil face, punishing those that deserve it theme, it became just another female cop with male sidekick show. But props to Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, FANTASTIC!
I loved the show & the actors. A fun thing to break up the rotten times we live in. Escapism… Heard of it? Yep I’m 64 too.
I just read some of the earlier responses–and am noticing that these folks are in my general age bracket–over 65. I am (on 12 May) 82 and love my Super Heroes (Superman, Batman, Arrow, The Flash, Super Girl), and the fun stuff such as Lucifer. EXCUSE ME!!! There are people who are over 49 yr old. I am 71 and my TV is my life. I hate reality shows, fake, boring. Lucifer was one highlight in my life. I guess. Senior citizens don’t count for anything. Just waiting to die.

I so agree with you Joanne I am also a senior citizen I am 70 ..my TV is my life too. I thoroughly enjoyed Lucifer..Why doesn’t the TV people start counting senior citizens also people tape shows nowadays r they checking that I have watched TV since I was 4 and I know a good show Lucifer is was one..Please someone pick up the show. I guess naked people running around in the jungle is more of the crap people like nowadays..geez!!
I can’t believe the way fox finish the serie, last two episodes was garbage, if they are going to finish the serie at least the two last episode most be a great one I’m very disappointed with fox.
The problem isn’t the show we just don’t watch it on fox directly we watch it on Hulu as well do I’m willing to bet those numbers are a lot higher just not on your tv network.
What is going wrong in america, that they only cancel with great shows?

I am just sick about this cancellation of Lucifer. Fox continually cancels all the good shows! This show is great! I suppose we will get more reality tv which is junk, fake and of no interest. I am done with watching Fox channel! I want Lucifer back!
