Looks like Lucifer Morningstar isn’t quite a lucky devil any longer. His show’s ratings have fallen year after year and so, FOX has cancelled its Lucifer TV show. Sadly, fans of the supernatural crime drama won’t be seeing a fourth season this fall.
A FOX comedy-drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases.
Lucifer: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Lucifer is averaging a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. While those declines aren’t huge, the series has seen dips in its ratings each season and the series could easily have been cancelled before. Apparently, the ratings dipped just a bit too low.
Out of the scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking, Lucifer ranks 13th in terms of its demo performance and rises to 10th place in terms of average total audience size.
Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson broke the bad news this afternoon.
So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe.

The defacto series finale airs Monday, May 14th.

This show is way better than some that are still running for next season. I suppose it is all about ratings which sucks from my point of view. Now it does not get renewed.
Ok, so you have to cancel Lucifer. I loved the show; different from any other on TV. Could we please have a good ending?
Damn it, Fox! I love “Lucifer” and its cast of crazy devil demon angel lovers. I would always cancel all my evening meetings and events just for this show. What a loss! I want the DVD set of all episodes! Can you at least take the same cast and put them in another program? Maybe a post Lucifer show and name it, “I Hella Love Lucy!” Tom Ellis, Lauren German, et al are my favorites right now!
There are very few shows that I enjoy watching but Lucifer was in the number one spot. I’m hoping that Hulu or maybe Netflix will be smart enough to pick this show up.
How upsetting! This show was my favorite. All of the characters were amazing! I hope somehow Lucifer can be saved.
Lucifer was 100 times better than most of the comedy-drama on tv. It was original, cleverly written, and the characters were well developed. I haven’t cried for years over any tv plots on tv, but when Charlotte was carried upward (to heaven) by Armendiel, I lost it and am still tearing up. I am extremely disappointed with FOX who cannot see that this character, his associates, and fascinating story-lines are much more interesting than the numerous and boring tv programs about weird ‘heroes’. I am glad. This show has been stretched for way too long and after season 2 I realized that cancellation was the only way it could end. The question is whether the final episode gracefully ends the series.

Very sad to see it go. It was an amazing show with lots of heart and imagination. Tom Ellis was exceptional as Lucifer and did the impossible. He made us fall in love with the Devil.

I am very sad to hear Fox is canceling Lucifer. This is my favorite show on tv. All you Lucifer fans need to contact FOX and petition them not to cancel this show. I just love this show!

NOOOO!!!! Lucifer is one of my favorite shows. Please ship it to another network. We need to save this show. Somebody please start a petition.
