What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases. Now with his mother (Helfer) taken care of, in season three, Lucifer wants to figure out who kidnapped him and why his angel wings have returned. He also has to deal with a new rival for Chloe’s attention, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Welling), who, unlike Lucifer, is strategic, reserved, and well-respected.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Lucifer averaged a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. Find out how Lucifer stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.
Lucifer was cancelled by FOX, but was later picked up for season four by Netflix. Season four debuts May 8, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with okay numbers, the ratings for Lucifer are even lower than last year’s (and those weren’t very good). I suspect it will be back for a fourth season but it could easily be cancelled due to the low ratings. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. I’ll be really bummed if canceled
It sucks that shows live and die based on what Nielson thinks. MANY people watch TV through non countable means, time shift, computer, etc. Fix the system, or ask the people in a way that counts. Lucifer is a great show, please renew it!
I watch via GooglePlay in Australia but apparently none of the international streaming viewings count towards ratings. They need a new system – it’s not like people actually watch the ads if they’ve DVRed shows anyway! 🙁

I LOVE Lucifer. Tom Ellis is magnificent. The storyline is great and the cast works wonderfully together. It would be a sad day if Luci got cancelled.

I need season 4 to come out
what is hurting the ratings is they release 3 to 4 episodes then go on hiatus for 3 months… release 4 more episodes then go on hiatus… rinse and repeat…
But then everyone knows Fox is great at destroying TVs with lots of potential… Firefly ring a bell
I really love the story line they should just advertise more and get more viewers, have to hype up the public 1st. At least have a nice closing for the whole series in season 4 don’t leave cliff hangers!!!!
This is one of my favorite shows on television. Fingers crossed the network knows a good thing when they have one and keep the magic happening.

I really hope it continues!! Don’t cancel this show! I’ve been hearing about it since it first premiered and Wanted to watch it but never did. I started watching it maybe last week and as of now I’m on season 3 episode 3…. PLEASE don’t cancel. This show is different from any other show with mystical creatures.
