TV show description:
This horror black comedy series is based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint. It’s the story of the original fallen angel — Lucifer.
Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. There, he owns an upscale nightclub named Lux. Charming, charismatic, and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things — wine, women, and song.
His bliss is disturbed when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of his club. For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder. Could it be (perish the thought) compassion or sympathy?
These thoughts disturb both Lucifer and his best friend and confidante, Mazikeen aka Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). Maze is a fierce demon who’s taken the form of a beautiful young woman.
The murder outside the club attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). She’s initially dismissive of Lucifer but she soon becomes intrigued by his talent for drawing out people’s secrets. Chloe also likes his desire to dispense justice, doling out punishment to those who deserve it.
As they work together to solve the pop star’s murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Accustomed to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer is intrigued by Chloe’s apparent purity and begins to wonder if there’s hope for his own soul yet.
At the same time, God’s emissary, an angel named Amenadiel (DB Woodside), has been sent to Los Angeles to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld.
Can the Devil incarnate be tempted toward the side of Good — or will his original calling pull him back toward Evil?
Episode #93 — Partners ‘Til the End
Desperate to rescue Rory, Lucifer and Chloe confront her kidnapper with guns and wings blazing. Lucifer finally comes to terms with his purpose.
First aired: September 10, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
If Lucifer is renewed for Season 3 I hope the writers keep Mom much as I dislike what she is doing. Tricia Helfer was the perfect casting choice for the role. I think Mom is going to say the “wrong” thing to Lucifer and his eyes will be finally opened as to her true motives which are to use Luci to get even with Dad and take over the family business. For all we know it may be that something said will finally result in Mom “losing” her favorite son. So Mom is going to have to make some serious… Read more »
Love this show! Hope they will continue
If FOX is smart Lucifer should be renewed ASAP. Since Lucifer was nominated for a People’s Choice Award should be telling the network that the audience loves the show.
Myself and my husband absolutely love this show. We have some family and alot of friends who have started watching. Hope it goes on for another season. While it is a controversial show I believe that it is one of the best shows airing right now. I never rate or write comments on shows, but I would really like to see this show make it to more seasons. Thanks for the awesome entertainment.
One of the great things is the way the characters are evolving and we can relate to each and everyone one of them. I have to admit that Mom is a great “villain”; she knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to achieve her goals. If the writers continue to do what they are doing now Lucifer could be on TV for years.
Why is the show controversial? It’s the 21st century. The 1950s Leave it to Beaver days are long gone and thank goodness. Those lives weren’t real.
I like this show. It is clever entertainment. Amazing cast. Luci should sing more. Absolutely should be last several years
“Love Handles” is such a heart wrenching episode. Mom is destroying Luci’s world and life bit by bit and Maze is the only one to see it but there is nothing she can do. The one person that Mom hasn’t even considered is Trixie. I think it will be Trixie who repairs the relationship between Luci and Chloe. Now that Luci thinks that Chloe’s feelings towards him aren’t real it’ll be interesting to see what choices he makes: follow the path he has been following with Chloe or follow Mom. As for Amenadiel he is falling further and further from… Read more »
I love this show! Like Carol, I look forward to seeing this show every week. It’s my favorite TV show and would be so disappointed if it was cancelled. The show has everything…mystery, love, hum, beautiful actors…who could ask for more! Absolutely love and enjoy all of the actors, especially Lucifer and Chloe. Not fond of his Mother. Guess there always has to be a villain in a show to make it interesting but I’d like to see her be sent back to Hell. Keep those episodes coming; please don’t cancel.
At least Mom isn’t a one-dimensional character like Malcolm. I wonder how long it will take for Luci and Amenadiel to realise that they are being manipulated by Mom. I’d love to see Penelope Decker and Mom go toe -to -toe and I’d place my money on Penelope being the winner.
I think Lucifer is a very interesting, compelling and fun show to watch. I love all the actors. Please renew.
Don’t you just love the opening scene in “Manhandles” with Maze eating popcorn?
I love this show. It’s the only one I really look forward to watching. The characters have great chemistry together. I’m not wild about the new character of Lucifer’s Mother though.
I think there’s too much Mom at times. What is interesting about her is that her motives are very clear but her desire to get back her family and home overrides what she is doing to her children, especially Lucifer. Maze is the only one who recognises what Mom is doing. I like the way Maze is being developed by the writers.
“Stewardess Interruptus” was a very interesting episode in that Lucifer gets to see various versions of himself and when he talks to Bert Luci realises that he isn’t worthy of Chloe. It was as though he were talking to himself in that scene. At the end of the opening scene when Chloe walks out and gets on the elevator you could see the tears in Luci’s eyes because he now realises what he has lost. You could also see Chloe had tears in her eyes as well and how hurt she feels because she thinks she is to be just… Read more »
awesome show
please don’t cancel
I love this show and it is a cliff hanger each week to the next, so please DO NOT CANCEL this show, I can not wait until Mondays to see what is going to happen and look forward to each and every show. So please continue this wonderful show for the next season.
Yes I agree I don’t Want this series to be cancelled please don’t do it
What will be interesting is when Luci learns the reasons why Chloe is immune to him
Please
Please don’t cancel the show!! It is great!!!
I beg you
Lucifer just keeps getting better and better. The scene where Chloe interviews Luci’s lovers and he hears the truth hearkens back to “A Priest Walks into a Bar” when Linda asked if these people were really friends. What a great theme for “Stewardess Interruptus”- self worth. It was very telling when Chloe was asking the interviewees if there were any emotional intimacies between them and Luci. I think her questions shows that the emotional connection is more important to her than just sex. I think she is beginning to realise that she means more to Luci than what he lets… Read more »
