TV show description:
This dramatic series revolves around Elizabeth McCord (Tèa Leoni), a newly appointed Secretary of State. She’s a shrewd and determined woman who drives international diplomacy, battles office politics and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues — both at the White House and at home.
A college professor and a brilliant former CIA analyst who left the agency for ethical reasons, Elizabeth returns to public life at the request of the President — following the suspicious death of her predecessor.
President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine) values her apolitical leanings, her deep knowledge of the Middle East, and her flair for languages. He also appreciates her ability to not just think outside the box, but to not even acknowledge there is a box.
McCord debates third world problems, finesses foreign dignitaries at work and does battle with the President’s combative Chief of Staff Russell Jackson (Željko Ivanek).
Elizabeth’s team includes her Chief of Staff Nadine Tolliver (Bebe Neuwirth), speechwriter Matt Mahoney (Geoffrey Arend), press coordinator Daisy Grant (Patina Miller), and her charming assistant Blake Moran (Erich Bergen).
In her personal life, she has a supportive husband, Henry (Tim Daly), and three children — Stephanie “Stevie” (Wallis Currie-Wood), Alison (Katherine Herzer), and Jason (Evan Roe).
Episode #120 — Leaving the Station
President Elizabeth McCord kicks off a new landmark political initiative with help from members of the World Cup Champion U.S. Women’s Soccer team, while Flo Avery (Cicely Tyson), who was born the day women were granted the right to vote, looks on. Opposing the initiative is Senator Amy Ross (Tyne Daley) from Ohio. Also, the McCords overcome last-minute obstacles to pull off a spectacular family celebration with a reunion of familiar faces, that includes a performance by Peter Frampton.
First aired: December 8, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Madam Secretary TV show? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season?
Please keep Madam secretary.
Well there goes another CBS GREAT! What is wrong with you people?? That was our Sunday night family show!!!!
Please Bring it back. Is it because she was a woman President and CBS has no B**LS to air what would be a landmark Role Model Show? It was relevant and Well written. I can’t say that about much on CBS these days. I GUESS NBC will become our new go to!
Hated the final season of Madam Secretary. She was a strong character but the story line ran like a Trump playbook with corruption. She deserved better than where the writers took the story end
I have been looking for the TV show Madam Secretary and I haven’t seen it on for weeks. I thought it was just bumped due to the holidays. Well, the holidays are over and when I could not find it on tonight, I decided to go on-line to see when it was on. I hate to see this show missing from the CBS line-up. I love this show because it is current with our world’s events and depicts a healthy, dynamic family of our times. The character, Elizabeth and her husband are great role models for couples because they are… Read more »
Please don’t cancel Madam Secretary. My favorite show.
Dont understand why this wonderful show was canceled one of the better ones
I’m very disappointed by its cancellation. Really liked this show. Madam President??
Madam secretary is probably the best show on tv today. It is very well written, has excellent actors and it comes very close to some of the issues we face today. Someone on here said we should keep this show and axe our real government. I wholeheartedly agree. At least on the show someone is working for the people.
In this time when we face the actual drama in the White House, you should have cancelled the real President and kept Madam Secretary instead. I hate to see the series cancelled, are you coming out with a new series called the Madam President McCord
We don’t even get full seasons any more of shows and again your going to take away one of the best show to watch. This isn’t the 1st time or the last you the network does this to us. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Don’t take it away from us.
Going to miss this show one of the great ones just keep dumb shows on
I will SO miss this show! Such excellent characters, family interactions, up-to-the minute topics. I actually cried when the final episode ended. Such a loss for the viewing public!!!
I really love the show. Would love to see another season; however, story lines were resolved well for the finale.
I love the show very much! Great casts and plots!!! I am very very sad that the show was ended. I miss you all, especially Tea Leoni
One of the best shows ever. Better than West Wing. Ended perfectly and when it should even though it leaves a huge hole in my viewing lineup. Quality and class and good taste. Wish we had that in the current WH. Thank you for 6 exquisite seasons of perfection.
