Making a Murderer is making its return soon. Recently, Netflix told USA Today season two of the popular series will debut sometime later this year.
The docuseries examines the case of Steven Avery, a Wisconsin man who was charged with murder after serving 18 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Season one debuted in December 2015.
Netflix’s VP of original content, Cindy Holland, told USA Today that new episodes of Making a Murderer will premiere later this year:
The story is still ongoing, so you will see new episodes coming sometime this year as this story continues to unfold. We don’t know when for sure new episodes will be coming.”
Holland later added that even Netflix doesn’t know what season two will be like:
Laura and Moira are (in Manitowoc) shooting regularly and working on what the right story is to tell in the next set, so we’re deferring to them on when it will be ready. Very few people inside of Netflix actually know the details of what we’re getting because we’re wanting to keep it really under wraps and it is an ongoing case so we’re trying to be sensitive to that.”
What do you think? Have you seen Making a Murderer? Are you looking forward to season two?
