What’s This TV Show About?
A sci-fi action-adventure drama airing on the ABC television network, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, and Natalia Cordova-Buckley. With Ghost Rider’s help, last season, Coulson (Gregg) and his team saved the world. At the end though, their celebration was cut short, and soon, Coulson was aboard a space ship. In season five, they will have figure out where they are and how to return home. Meanwhile, humanity’s time may be running out.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is averaging a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.07 million viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 28% in the demo and down by 11% in viewers. Find out how Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD stacks up against other ABC TV shows.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has been renewed for a sixth season which will debut May 10, 2019. The series has also been renewed for a seventh season. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Since Disney is the parent company for both ABC and Marvel, it seems that perhaps the ratings matter less than promoting the brand. I believe that Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD will be renewed for a sixth and final season. Still, since this fifth season will ensure a good-sized package for syndication, it’s not crazy to think this Marvel Comics Universe series could end here. I Really love this show and even though I am older than that 18 to 49 demographic. I wait eagerly with trepidation for each episode. Please give it a chanced for a season 6

Please keep Agents of Shield
Season 5 did it wrong with time travel. That’s a messy subject in a series like this. Would have been better with them trying to get back to earth from some distant place. They could have been there for the devastation on Xandar, tried to save a few lives. Instead they went with a poorly done dystopian future and are arguing fate vs free will in the worst way possible. Please continue with 6 season and maybe can show with Infinity war and they maybe can fix before all superheroes back on Earth
Agent’s of Shield has gotten better each season. In its first season, until the reveal that Hydra had infiltrated Shield, they had to use the premise that some Clairvoyant was the primary villain. The show has continued to improve with each season. What has been more entertaining, throughout the last three seasons, is that the writing staff became aware of how clever their fans were becoming and that they needed to try and not only stay ahead of their audiences’ expectations, they needed to outwit them! Agent of shield should continue. It is a fantastic show with a lot of twists and turns. I’ve been watching sci-fi for more than 50 years and I think it is a killer of a show.
Went from exciting to boring after Ghost Rider. Season 5 may suffer from too much full team “inaction” scenes. Just seems like the writers do not have enough story or action to fill episodes any more. Feels like writer burn out.
Fix that back to resolved tensions pace of prior seasons…then we can talk more seasons.
Really should end here. Episodes are stretched out and packed with pointless dramatic pauses. Season 5 would be twice as good if they had cut 30-40% of video. Show the kiss or the death rather than agonizing endlessly or serving up unenthusiastic flirting with the idea for 3-6 episodes. Don’t foreshadow everything…limit such techniques to 2-3 ongoing things. End most that foreshadowing in 1-2 episodes.
We need to have SHIELDcontinue and not only for a Season 6. This is by far an amazing TV show and would love to see it as a movie. Season 5 cannot be the last of SHIELD.
