What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the NBC television network, New Amsterdam stars Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher, and Tyler Labine. Doctor Max Goodwin (Eggold) is a caring physician whose goal is to fix a broken medical system and to provide exceptional care to the people who need it most. He inspires (almost) everyone around him, and will stop at nothing to breathe new life into the understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated New Amsterdam Medical Center. Those working with Goodwin include Dr. Lauren Bloom (Montgomery), the head of the ER; oncologist Dr. Helen Sharpe (Agyeman); cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Floyd Reynolds (Sims); psychiatrist Dr. Iggy Frome (Labine); and Dr. Vijay Kapoor (Kher), head of the Neurological Department.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of New Amsterdam averaged a 0.77 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.09 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 28% in the demo and down by 14% in viewership. Find out how New Amsterdam stacks up against other NBC TV shows.

Will NBC cancel or renew New Amsterdam for season three? Considering that the series follows NBC’s biggest shows, the ratings should be better. However, I think they are still good enough to nab New Amsterdam a third season renewal. I’ll keep a hungry eye on the ratings and update this page with breaking developments. Great plot. Casts are just perfect for their roles. Please renew “ New Amsterdam “ for 3 rd, 4th and more seasons. It reminds me of my old classic favorite medical drama “ St. Elsewhere “.

I don’t watch a lot of TV due to the amount of bad shows currently on air, but I do watch shows like New Amsterdam and Bluff City Law which I believe has brilliant writers and cast. The story lines are captivating, interesting and truly test my intelligence and keep me engaged. I look forward to the next episodes. I cannot understand how these quality shows are thrown under the bus, while so many not-funny comedies, reality shows and singing and dancing contest shows remain on air. This show has renewed the topic of health care reform into daily conversation. I am anxious to see if it makes it or falls canceled secondary to network politics. I love the show and tell people about it all the time
Please do not leave this show with a cliffhanger like so many other primetime shows. This is the first time I have started watching one of these primetime shows in a long time. This is a really good show that keeps you interested in what is going to happen next. KEEP IT GOING!!!!!!

Please renew. It’s a decent show which is a rarity.It may not be exciting like Star Wars or violent like too many shows, but it has heart which is refreshing.
