What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, The Orville stars Seth MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J Lee, and Mark Jackson. The sci-fi action-adventure series centers on Captain Ed Mercer (Seth MacFarlane), of The U.S.S. Orville, and First Officer Kelly Grayson (Palicki) — his ex-wife. Whether facing off with the Krill, a dangerous alien race, or attempting rescues on behalf of the Planetary Union, the human and alien crew still must deal with their mundane issues and each other.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of The Orville averaged a 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.16 million viewers. Compared to season one, that is down by 40% and 27%, respectively. Find out how The Orville stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.
The Orville has been renewed for a third season. However, the series is moving to Hulu. Season three will debut on June 2, 2022. Stay tuned for further updates.

Will The Orville be cancelled or renewed for season three? Right now, it is too soon to judge by the ratings, but I am sure FOX will pick up another installment, because it has been approved to receive California tax incentives for a third season. Remember, entertainment aside, television is a numbers game, and the most important numbers involve money. Still, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with any breaking developments. i think since the orville is a better star trek than the real star trek. yes it should be renewed.
If cancelled you are only giving our viewing to Netflix, Hulu or Amazon. We trekies love Orville.
I hope the Orville comes back for another season. I love that show! I can always tell a great show when each episode doesn’t last as long as you want it to and The Orville definitely fits in this category!
I bet TBS would snatch it up if it is dropped by Fox. Most of their series shows that are not cartoons are duds that they keep renewing and they already have some of Seth’s shows there.
My household is only looking forward to The Orville. I cannot believe it is even a question.

Vote for renewal from me! love this series! tried to watch ST Discovery but its so boring and bland so I stopped and discovered Orville, which is a true refreshment in this genre 🙂
The Orville should def be renewed !!! I’ma be mad if it’s not lol .. it’s a very good show !! Not a fan of Star trek starwars most def !! However I love this show I quite enjoy it i think it’s hilarious !! Besides the way the last episode ended there’s no way it shouldn’t be renewed for a new season it can’t end like tgat if anything it should have at the least one more season !!!
I love The Orville – I was in high school when Star Trek was first aired (then cancel after the 3rd season)[really big mistake] – it would be a travesty if The Orville was cancelled like Star Trek was. Look how popular Star Trek is now – I’d prefer The Orville go on and on and on. The Orville is one of the best series on TV. BRILLIANT story lines, and incredible characters who seem to capture your admiration more and more each new episode. The use of popular US songs s circa 1960’s/70’s, and the hilarious and brilliant use of cell phones is ingenious. The mix of drama and humor is very innovative and when The Orville gets serious about suspenseful intergalactic warfare such as the season 2 finale….WOW!!! If this show is not renewed for season 3, Fox will have destroyed a great and superbly written Sci Fi series.
