TV show description:
This drama series is set in the rugged hills of Appalachia and follows the Farrell clan. They are a tight-knit family of renegades who have lived atop Shay Mountain for over two hundred years.
The Farrells live off the grid and above the law, enforcing their own set of long-held values and beliefs. They are governed by a simple but powerful tribal authority led by a Bren’in, or ruler, and a small council of elders.
Notoriously secretive and unforgiving when crossed, the Farrells find themselves in conflict with the residents of the nearest town nestled at the foot of Shay Mountain. These locals — and all others outside the tribe — embody greed, malice and all forms of corruption that must be avoided at any cost. Direct contact with the ‘Losties’ (as named by the Farrells) is strictly forbidden.
For the last 20 years, an uneasy truce has generally presided between the ‘Losties’ and the family tribe of Shay Mountain — until Big Coal enters the arena. Never ones to back down from a fight, the Farrells will ultimately defend their way of life using any available means.
Characters include: Big Foster (David Morse), the gruff and powerful heir to tribe leadership. His son is Lil Foster (Ryan Hurst), a massive mountain man.
Young and intuitive Hasil (Kyle Gallner) feels rejected by the group. Lady Ray (Phyllis Somerville), the regal yet tough leader of the Farrell clan.
Asa (Joe Anderson) is a former member of the Farrell clan looking to rejoin the family after a 10-year stint with the outside world. Asa’s trusted confidante is G’Winveer (Gillian Alexy), a healer and a survivor.
Beautiful and young, Sally-Ann (Christina Jackson) is from a mining town and she’s fascinated by the Farrells (Hasil, in particular).
Haylie (Francie Swift) is a clever and cunning all-American community relations manager who represents the encroaching coal company.
Sheriff Wade Houghton (Thomas M. Wright) is a cop who has a rough and mysterious history with the Farrells, and grapples with several personal troubles of his own.

What do you think? Do you like the Outsiders TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
This is the one show my husband and I will sit down and watch together, so we would so watch it on another network. What the Hell WGN America!! Have you lost your Minds.
The only real tv show my wife and I watch together
Renew the outsiders please !!!
This is so aggravating, seem s like every time a series comes on that I REALLY like, IT GETS CANCEL. I love Outsiders, I hope they change their minds and bring it back
Definitely needs to be renewed. One of best shows ever!!!!
The best show ever! Cancelled, I can’t believe that.
Please renew. Love the show. Please Please Pplease. it is almost a documentary. There really are people who have lived as they do on the show. It is a great show.
We really like the show and do not want to see it canceled!!
I really liked the show and was sorry to see it cancelled. Is there any chance of it being picked up?
It was better than all the reality shows.
I really love this show looked forward to it coming back on. Could hardly wait for it to come on the next week. I just don’t understand why it’s not coming back. I would like to see some of the others canceled and keep it. This is just leave you hanging so much wanted to see how it was going to work out. I’ve thought but canceling WNG this was my main reason for having this station. Please see if it can be show somewhere else
One of my favorite shows!
I loved this show and the actors. someone needs to pick this up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please bring this show back or put it on Netflix!!!!!!!
I enjoyed watching the Outsiders and their struggle with the Big Coal Company. I think the show should be renewed and shown on a major TV network. This show is a break from all the city type criminal shows. Good actors and good writing separates this show from the typical night time dramas!
I am distraught to read that this show has been cancelled. I had heard that Underground had been cancelled but this was the first I saw about Outsiders being cancelled too. This has become one of my favorite shows to watch and when it’s over I can’t wait until it’s time to come on again. I really hope some other station picks it up and not like Netflix or one of those online sites to have to watch it. It is so different from the other shows on TV and so refreshing to watch something so different. I really get… Read more »
