TV show description:
This crime drama follows a presumed dead former-CIA agent named John Reese (Jim Caviezel) who teams up with a mysterious billionaire, Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson), who’s also believed to be dead. Their goal is to prevent violent crimes by using technology and their own brand of vigilante justice.
Finch is a software genius who has invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people who are about to be involved in violent crimes — either the victim or the perpetrator. It was originally built for the government to prevent another 9/11 disaster but found that it was predicting less catastrophic, “irrelevant” crimes. Finch built a “backdoor” into the machine so that, before erasing the “irrelevant” data each night, Finch is sent the social security number of a person about to be involved in a serious crime.
Finch recruits Reese because of his special training in covert operations. Using their combined skills, resources and advanced surveillance technology, they work outside of the law to identify “persons of interest” and stop crimes before they occur.
Reese’s actions draw the attention of the NYPD — including homicide detectives Carter (Taraji P. Henson) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman). The latter is a corrupt cop and Reese blackmails him into being a source of information inside the department.
With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that locating the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything.
Episode #103 — Return 0
Finch, Reese, Fusco and Shaw embark on one last mission to prevent Samaritan from destroying The Machine and cementing its hold over mankind.
First aired: June 21, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the Person of Interest TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a sixth season?

It’s a unique and exciting show, with interesting, complex characters and a new story every week, along with a season long arc. Why are all the thought provoking shows canceled to make room for new, idiotic, typical, outmoded, formulaic shows, many bigoted and homophobic? I can think of a dozen shows that have been cancelled because they were too witty or funny if you had a brain, or intelligent, or cutting-edge. Or they disappear for a year after only a few episodes, relegated to that limbo where ultimately people forget about them (or is that the point?). It’s infuriating!
I love this show, we are in season 2 and I just saw that it has been cancelled please keep making it.
That’s the show that should be on renewed on priority because it based on future technology that is based on computing revolution. I don’t understand why CBS can’t see that?. Even in US Computing World is always on Buzz.
Hope they reconsider their decision based on the show’s popularity and its bright future.
Keep the show
I think this show can run for years, yes I’m sure it’s difficult but it’s worth it why do others stay for years. Are they helping pay the bills, what’s all this franchise crap? Can any show become a franchise? I mean 2 broke girls.you call this entertainment! It can’t be ratings.
Exactly, Criminal Minds has reached its 12th season, and most every episode is great.
Cancelling Person of Interest is myopic and stupid.
I am hoping another network picks it up LW
This is without a doubt my most favorite t.v. show EVER…and I’ve been alive a while!!! Every person in this ensemble is perfectly cast and I will miss having them in my living room every week!! It’s one of the most intelligent shows on t.v…..creative license not withstanding…..and I’m so very disappointed to see it go. If anyone else picks it up I’ll be watching…and the Machine will know! :o)
It’s a great show and will be missed by many. Netflix should pick it up.
That’s a great idea
Person of Interest was just about the only well written, creatively/originally conceived show on tv. Shame it was cancelled. What about a cable company picking it up if CBS is too stupid to recognize quality . Used to be that the good shows were on the major channels and the fluff and junk was on cable. Now it’s the reverse. I rarely watch tv anymore due to its creative wasteland of “reality” crap.
Person of Interest was a unique series. As with any larger than life show, you must accept (in this case) that The Machine can do what it does. After that everything that happens COULD be real; this sets it apart from all others. Sadly missed.
Please do not cancell this show. It was one of the best for cbs. Thanks
I absolutely hate that this show was canceled. I was an avid fan. As a show it had everything; action, well written scripts, the actors meshed well with each other. It had the perfect blend of sci-fi and human interaction to keep one in suspense. All other shows pale by comparison. I have not been able to find a replacement show yet with this much going for it. I am deeply disappointed by the choice to cancel it.
no IT SHOULD NOT BE CANCELED WE HAVE NOT SEEN ALL OF THE SHOW AND OR AT LEAST TO THE END THIS IS NOT FAIR BRING IT BACK!!! WE WANT TO SEE THIS SHOW ON AGAIN!!!
Great show and a breath of fresh air on TV – yes there is violence but there is also responsibility, integrity, and loyalty. Shame to see a quality show being cancelled..
This is one of most relevant programs ever made. It speaks to current issues in our society, as well as being well written and entertaining.
Has usual mindless trumps thought provocing.
They now have Elementry on death row by putting it on Sunday. They seem to be trying to kill the only two good shows they have left.
Sad, sad to see it cancelled….great cast that complement each other. To get more viewers I wish the powers at be would have moved it around to find a time slot that worked better for it. Probably easier said than done, right? There are a couple 8:00 slots during the week that sure need some help. PERSON OF INTEREST would look good there. Very sorry to see it go.
