Move over, Holmes and Watson. Another detective duo is here to stay. Recently, Global Television announced that season two of the TV show Private Eyes will resume next summer.
The comedy-drama stars Jason Priestley as Matt Shade, an ex-hockey player who teams up with private investigator Angie Everett (Cindy Sampson) to solve crimes. The cast also includes Barry Flatman, Jordyn Negri, Clé Bennett, and Ennis Esmer.
Global had ordered 18 episodes for season two of Private Eyes last year, with production slated to begin in Fall 2016. In March 2017, we reported that ION has picked the show up in the U.S. but they have not yet aired season one. It’s unclear if/when the U.S. cable channel will also air season two of the Canadian series.
The first season of Private Eyes debuted in March 2016 on Global and ran for 10 episodes. Season two of Private Eyes began airing on the Canadian network on May 25nd and is expected to run for nine episodes. The second group of nine episodes are slated to debut on Global Television in summer 2018.

What do you think? Have you seen Private Eyes? Are you glad it’s coming back in Canada?
Happy to know the show is returning. Wish it was returning much sooner
what, i thought that season two was before, so when will season three air then, why is it taking so long to do a season
Yes I’m glad it’s coming back, just wish that it was coming back sooner. And more episodes. Reminds me of those old shows I used to watch. Like Rockford files, Simon and Simon,Magnum P.I., Spencer for hire, also liked Castle but that’s not on anymore.I’m sure there’s more but can’t think of them at the moment.
never thought of those denis but you’re right…
Yes I love the show it it reminds me of all those old shows i use to watch like Remington steel, moonlighting and scarecrow and mrs smith. Please bring it back.
I love this show, it is just so good and i love the cast also.. i always look forward to watching each episode.
I really enjoy this show – glad to hear it will be coming back in 2018! It is well written with good character development.
I was excited when Global announced an eighteen-episode season two, and then terribly disappointed when they turned it into a nine-episode season two and a nine-episode season three. It doesn’t help to say that season two will continue after a ten-month break.
I love this show. It sucks that all the good Canadian shows get cancelled because they don’t air in the U.S.! I would prefer to see it in the fall when more people are watching tv. It might get a better viewing.
This show is great! I’d like to see in as a regular in the fall programming. 9 episodes in the summer isn’t enough.
Why do we have to wait a YEAR for the other 9 Episodes??!! I agree that they could have brought it on for the fall. This show has an honesty and authenticity that is sorely lacking in most american tv shows. I like the filming in TO, I love that all the actors are Canadian. PLEASE bring it back.
Love this show.
Glad to hear it Don’t want to wait so long for return.
Love the show. Very disappointed that we have to wait a whole year for new episodes. By than we will forget about the show.
Love the show… wish they would air the other 9 episodes too. best thing about Thursdays. Angie and shade are fun. I’m hooked and I need more.
I could see showing the first 9 episodes until July 2017 and then the next 9’episodes in the fall of 2017…… like How to get away with Murder does it……waiting until 2018 seems like a stretch…..technically isn’t that really season 3 if we have to wait a whole year?
Different….will miss Angie and Shade.
Love this show…very disappointed that there are so few episodes in 2017….really do not understand what is going on…a fan
Private Eyes is very light-hearted in that the private eyes – since they are not cops – don’t investigate murders.
