Annie Bello won’t get to fight for new causes in the 2021-22 television season. ABC has cancelled the Rebel TV series so there won’t be a second year.
A drama, the Rebel TV show is inspired by the life of activist Erin Brockovich today and stars Katey Sagal, John Corbett, James Lesure, Lex Scott Davis, Tamala Jones, Ariela Barer, Kevin Zegers, Sam Palladio, and Andy Garcia. Annie “Rebel” Bello (Sagal) is a blue-collar legal advocate without a law degree. She’s a funny, messy, brilliant, and fearless woman who cares desperately about the causes she fights for and the people she loves. When Rebel applies herself to a fight she believes in, she will win at almost any cost.
Airing on Thursday nights, the first season of Rebel averages a 0.43 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.23 million viewers in the live+same day ratings.
The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The series follows Grey’s Anatomy on the schedule but performs poorly in the ratings and loses a lot of its lead-in audience. It’s one of the lowest-rated freshman series on the network this season.

Rebel is a great show with a greater cast. It deserves a second chance. I bet a lot of people didn’t even know about it. I hope Hulu or Prime or some other network has the smarts enough to pick it up.
Love the show. Sorry it got canceled. When you start enjoying shows the powers to be will start canceling because all they worry about is there “pocket books “. Hopefully the show will be back on another channel. It’s the substance not the channel that is important.
Finally, a good show and it gets cancelled. My friends and I were discussing how good this show is and then we heard it was canc elled. Please reconsider.

I really hope Hulu or some other network will pick up the show Rebel and continue with a season 2 and so on. It’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. Love the cast and the story line. Just so much to love about this show. Please someone pick it up for season two.

Extremely disappointed it’s been cancelled. I know of numerous people in Australia and New Zealand who are devastated it’s been cancelled
as we finally get to watch the first season with rave reviews. It’s raw, it’s real in a that’s my life kind of way and it’s humorous.
Can’t Netflix or another network take on the show to do a second, third, fourth season and so on?
When we have to put up with crap scripted reality tv shows that get renewed why do we have to suffer and lose a good tv show that’s actually worth watching?

Not sure what all goes into the decision making process but some of the shows that have been renewed have me scratching my head.
I hope another network will realize the top quality of this show and possibly pick it up – along with All Rise (Another great show cancelled for some reason).

I liked this show. I can’t believe the ratings were so low. I never watch the junk ABC had on ahead of it. Yet, my remote got me to ABC to watch Katie S in Rebel. She is such a good actress. I guess I will have to keep watching her on The Conners. Maybe another film company will give the series a try.
