What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, The Resident stars Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Moran Atias, Merrin Dungey, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Melina Kanakaredes, and Bruce Greenwood. The medical drama centers on Dr. Devon Pravesh (Dayal), a newly minted resident, as well as Senior Resident Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Czuchry), and their colleagues at the Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. Although its motto is, “Committed to excellence,” the hospital is staffed with human beings, and humans are flawed. Now that Devon is on the other side of the institution’s velvet ropes, Conrad wants him to understand the reality of medicine and its delivery.

Will FOX cancel or renew The Resident for season two? Other than the special premiere, the ratings haven’t been very good. My gut tells me to put on my eating pants and prepare fans for the prospect of cancellation but FOX has lots of ratings woes so it could be renewed. I just found this show about 2 episodes ago, I love it. Unfortunately, that is probably the kiss of death since the powers that be disregard what viewers crave-an ensemble cast, compelling & informative storylines, witty dialogue, twists & turns. It is not another “talent show” with snarky, self absorbed judges or an overtly political diatribe so it will probably be consigned to the dust bin. I know I am cynical, but experience is a good teacher if not a kind one.
Love this show! And I watch very little TV. The only other one I follow is This Is Us.

I’ve been hooked by this show. You can’t leave us hanging with regards to the Cancer Doc. She MUST go down! Conrad & Nic are the only ones that can do it. Can’t we have an ending that we all want for once?!?!
