TV show description:
From creators Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman, the Star Trek: Discovery TV show is the latest series in the enduring science-fiction franchise. A prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series, the drama follows the crew of the USS Discovery during the Cold War between the Federation and the Klingons
Star Trek: Discovery centers on First Officer Michael Burnham (Martin-Green), who served on the USS Shenzhou before being assigned to the USS Discovery. “Number One,” as she is known, was a ward of Mr. Spock’s (Leonard Nimoy) father, the Vulcan Ambassador Sarek (Frain). Because of her upbringing, Michael has a rare point of view and is always striving to balance emotion with logic.
The first human to attend the Vulcan Learning Center, and an alumna of the Vulcan Science Academy, Michael brings a conscientious and ethical perspective to her duties. Before grasping alien cultures, she must learn to understand herself.
Michael is mentored by Captain Philippa Georgiou (Yeoh) of the U.S.S. Shenzhou. A war veteran, Captain Georgiou is no stranger to loss. Still, she sees the good in others and believes in mankind and extraterrestrials.
Although Star Trek: Discovery features a new ship, new characters, and new missions, it espouses the same ideals and optimism that have drawn in audiences for more than 50 years.
Series Finale:
Episode #65 — Life, Itself
With a powerful ancient technology up for grabs, Burnham and Moll battle each other inside a mysterious alien portal as Book, Rayner, and the crew of Discovery wage a ferocious fight to protect Burnham and the future of the Federation.
First aired: May 30, 2024.
What do you think? Do you like the Star Trek: Discovery TV series? Should this TV show be ending or renewed for a sixth season on Paramount+?
This is utter garbage. I don’t understand how this kept going for as long as it has. The movies were horrible. Now they did the same thing with this show. If others like it, then they don’t know anything about Trek.
I’m not sure what a lot of people are complaining about….it’s a fantasy show. I like the show. I don’t like the fact that one of the main characters is a criminal. They could have not written that part in. The only thing that I see as a slight problem is that the technology seems to rival that of its storyline future show(s).
Good writing??? What?? Are you kidding me? So they find “something” over there hidden around asteroids. Scanners don’t work for some strange reason. So they look at it thru an old style telescope. Yeah, really. When that obviously doesn’t tell them anything. Do they send over a probe? No. So they put someone in a shuttle and fly them over? No. They put the main character in a freakin’ space suit and propel her over there. Really? Really? What sense does that make? And oh yeah, to top it off, if she doesn’t get back in 20 minutes, she will… Read more »
If you are not watching anymore, you missed the spores, and lately the red angel, and Spock is doing bad stuff and is now in hiding… is so hard to follow the story. They have to explain each thing because you can’t imagine everything that is going on is even possible. Each time they try to say something funny is just painful.
Perhaps the best ever conceived and implemented Star Trek.
Well these people sound like the left media. This is absolutely the best Star Trek ever even though I have a special place for Jean Luke. My guess is these people comments listed below have had a change of heart by the 9th episode. Good writing, good special effects – CBS has spent some money here. Hope the series lasts 7 years.
There is something wrong when I watched the first show in Sep. Too much philosophy gems (?) and way too much long winded talking by the characters, shorten their dialogues. Too much guidance by the Captain, we don’t mind some, but not a lot. Need a male First Officer and don’t go overboard with alien looks; what you have now is not good. The aliens looks are way too busy. If you cannot do any of this bring Capt Janeway back.
A great show and does not have to be in line with past series or fans. Time for Star Trekkie diehards to come out of their mom’s closet and get real with life and challenges.
I’m saddened that CBS would destroy the Star Trek fanchise. The show is complete crap and an insult to. Star Trek fans. Cancel it!
Very bad, the set is uninspired…to say the least…unimagative…..PLEASE CANCEL , for the true legacy of the real STAR TRAK!

It’s crap.
Loving Discovery so far, still wonderful Trek. Already like it better than Enterprise
I loved the show it was great I hope it will come on a gain maby even on antenna tv ha
I have been a Star Trek viewer for as long as I can remember, but this is it for me. This series isn’t Star Trek by any stretch of the imagination.
Enterprise was far superior than this, and that was canceled for very dubious reasons.
Sorry, but having Star Trek in the title doesn’t make it so. I won’t be watching it, and looking at the many, many complaints about this series I doubt it will be long before it meets an untimely end.
a show that doesn’t have the Star Trek on the name but probably should is The Orville. Is the best Star Trek. Each episode seems like a movie. The last episode was beyond amazing. Seth MacFarlane is a genius.
Very disappointed with the loss of Trek to this series. Discovery is throwing political correctness and questionable values in your face, but forgetting the Roddenberry roots of his vision (Wagontrain to the stars). As a life long Trek fan, I’ve been a loyal viewer of every series, even Enterprise. Sadly, Discovery is one Trek named series I will not watch. Leave the social climate and politics of today out of Trek. Focus on the uncharted adventures of the future. Star Trek Discovery: 0/10 rating.
Very disappointed in discovery will not watch anymore.
