At the recent Television Critics Association press tour, ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee reflected on cancelled mini-series The Assets.
He said that he was proud of The Assets creatively and as a business model, even though the ratings were a disappointment. “That one was actually a great experiment [with our news division] and we’re going to continue with that experiment even though the show didn’t work.”
Lee noted that, “In the end, what we need do as we test out different pieces [of programming] is to find ones that work both financially and creatively so that we can have programming the whole year-round.”
The network president also said that the remaining episodes of The Assets would be made available at some point in the future — either on the broadcast schedule or via one of ABC’s digital platforms like ABC.com.
What do you think? Are you open to watching limited series — even though the network may still pull them early? Would you like to see the rest of The Assets?
Yes, please run the remaining episodes. I would prefer TV, but online is fine as well.
I enjoyed the 1st 2 episodes. I like stories based on true events. Yes, I would like to see the rest of the episodes and not so much reruns of Shark Tank.
The show is great and based on a true story what more could you ask for! If you made the rest of the show just air it. We live in a world where people rather watch American idol for 7 months straight than a mini-series based on a true story….annoying!!!
I enjoyed the two episodes of The Assets, and I have been looking for them ever since. I would love to see the rest of the episodes on tv and hope these are aired soon.
I agree with all of these comments and am beginning to think that perhaps all shows should be miniseries. We could see them all before they’re cancelled! I enjoyed Assets and wondered what happened to it. Yes, I want to see all episodes. If you spend the money to make them, air them! Don’t leave us hanging regarding the endings.
I’m so disappointed in ABC’s decison to cancel the Assets episode. It was a great a show and I was looking foreward to seeing the entire mini series. Wish they’d bring it back.
On TV! I was so bummed out about the rest of this not being shown especially since the end of episode 2,while not exactly a cliffhanger, was certainly suspenseful.
My husband and I really enjoyed the assets please show remaining episodes
I WANT TO SEE THE REMAINING 6 E[ISODES ON MY TV SCREEN! ABC pulling a show after two episodes is ridiculous! Why not play the entire series. Assets had stiff competition and NOT sure why ABC expected to draw every viewer on the planet to watch this show. My husband and I liked The Assets and we were looking forward to seeing the entire series. Why couldn’t ABC televise all of the episodes. This is soooo maddneing! The powers that be at ABC need to listen to the viewers! GIVE A SHOW A CHANCE!!!
+1
yes. I would prefer to see them on tv. I am SO SICK OF ABC starting a show, running 2 episodes, then STOPPING out of the blue. I get hooked and then you stop. I loved this show, and other shows but I guess the minority gets to choose what plays and what doesn’t.
+1
It’s a limited series..8 weeks. Just let it run. Hell, I didn’t even know it had started until the second week and had to find the first episode on demand.
I hAte when they start a show and then abruptly cut it
Yes, on TV. Why wasn’t it better promoted and scheduled for a more appropriate time slot?
I would prefer TV but would accept on the net. Nevertheless, do make repetitive announcements concerning viewing availability so it is not missed.
Yes. Would like to see remaining episodes of Assets preferably on TV. Would prefer that the network not keep, canceling shows. Very upsetting and confusing. Not a good way to build trust or viewers!!!
I totally agree
