What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the NBC television network, The Blacklist stars James Spader, Megan Boone, Diego Klattenhoff, Amir Arison, Hisham Tawfiq, Laura Sohn, and Harry Lennix. The crime drama centers on one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (Spader), who offers to help the authorities if a specific rookie agent, Elizabeth Keen (Boone), partners with him. In season eight, with his back against the wall, Red faces his most formidable enemy yet — Elizabeth. Aligned with her mother, infamous Russian spy Katarina Rostova, Liz must decide how far she is willing to go to find out why Reddington has entered her life and what his endgame really is. The fallout between Red and Keen will have devastating consequences for all that lie in their wake, including the Task Force they helped to create.
Season Eight Ratings
The eighth season of The Blacklist averaged a 0.35 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.26 million viewers. Compared to season seven, that’s down by 36% in the demo and down by 23% in viewership. Find out how The Blacklist stacks up against other NBC TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Will NBC cancel or renew The Blacklist for season nine? It’s seemed like The Blacklist might be in its final year for a while but the show keeps going. The ratings are low but the series gained some viewers last year. I suspect that the series will continue as long as Spader wants to keep making it and as long as Sony Pictures Television (which produces the series) can make a financial deal with NBC that suits both sides. I’d like to see at least one more season. The show isn’t in a good place to come to an end yet.
Would love to see 9, 10 and keep it going of the black list! Love James Spader, wasn’t a big fan of his until I seen him on the Black list before that Pretty in Pink. He makes this show, love Elizabeth Keen wand to see Father and Daughter work more together. They need Tom also. I think James Spader is an excellent amazing actor.
I really love James Spader, always have. Since his early days of pretty in pink and endless love. I like Raymond Reddington way better than Elizabeth Keen. In fact I can’t stand Liz Keen and her inability to mind her own self righteous, pot calling the kettle black business.
I really do want questions about Raymond’s relationship to her, Ilya, Dom, and katarina answered then Elizabeth can be gone! Bring back Tom Keen and lets get back to the actual list! Please renew but without Liz and her big nose where it doesn’t belong.
I have been a fan of Blacklist from the beginning. However, if the show can’t get back to the original concept of having a Blacklist and going after the person named on the Blacklist, then it time for the show to come to an end. The format so far this season is very much removed from the original concept.

Please don’t cancel this show!! It’s been the best one in a very long time!! James Spader is FANTASTIC in his part as Red Reddington. I still think he’s Keen’s father. I think she has betrayed him over & over & I believe he is protecting her from….. something. But she doesn’t see it. Never liked her apparent “mother” Katarina. But Red has to tell her what’s up or he will lose her. Omg, when will another show be on?! Why only 2 shows?!

The Blacklist is THE BEST crime drama on tv today. It would be foolish of NBC to cancel this outstanding show. We the viewers are looking for great entertainment these days especially with the covid restrictions, &The Blacklist has everything we need! Drama, intrigue,great one liners,irreverence,deception, love & even a little humor!You can’t help but love all the characters & the part they play in the overall story line. Keep this going it’s been the best programme I have ever watched each episode has kept you gripped and wishing there was enough hours in the day to keep binge watching, never in all my years has anything matched the utmost brilliant writing of the director also each and every actor/actress have played there roles with so so amazing, please please please carry on and keep giving the world something other than covid restrictions and our sanity something to focus on, so well written and such a top class group of actors

Yes renew to many good shows like this one go by the wayside way to early, there is so much depth to Reddington that has yet to be revealed. I really love the show.

Aren’t they getting a ton of money from Netflix as well? That helps with the financial aspect of the series.
Frankly. I don’t care. I’m so sick of this what?, 5 year story on who Keen’s parent are, that I’ve had it. Change the story line. Please!
I still hope and pray that NBC will renewal Blacklist for the new season.
