TV show description:
From creators Craig Sweeny and Craig Turk, The Code TV show is a military legal drama. The series unfolds at the Judge Advocate General Headquarters in Quantico, Virginia and centers on the prosecutors, defense lawyers, and investigators who work on the legal challenges facing the U.S. Marine Corps.
A motivated man from a military family, Captain John “Abe” Abraham (Mitchell) has a passion for his work as a prosecutor and a deep sense of responsibility. His colleague, Captain Maya Dobbins (Wood) is a good friend, despite her position as the lead defense attorney. As dedicated as she is to the Corps and her clients, she is even more devoted to the truth.
Abe’s superior, Major Trey Ferry (Essandoh) is a dogged prosecutor who is relentless in the pursuit of suspects. Meanwhile, as one of the JAG’s highest-ranking women, commanding officer Colonel Glenn Turnbull (Delaney) expects nothing but the best from her staff. It’s her high standards for herself, however, that inspire their fierce loyalty.
Rounding out the team are Lt. Harper Li (Soo), a lawyer who is itching for a challenge, and Warrant Officer Rami Ahmadi (Barsoumian) who assists the lawyers in most aspects of their work.
As active-duty members of the U.S. Marines, these attorneys are duty and honor-bound to serve the country they love, as they seek military justice, both at home and abroad.
Series Finale:
Episode #12 — Legit Bad Day
Abe’s colleagues must defend and reluctantly prosecute him when he is arrested and court-martialed for mutiny in regard to a 2010 mission in Afghanistan, where he was one of the only survivors.
First aired: July 22, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like The Code TV series? Should this CBS TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
This show should NOT be cancelled. As a former Marine, I feel The Code depicts the men and women of today’s U.S. Marine Corps in a positive fashion. Besides, the Corps must love it since it is a running billboard for it’s branch of service. I do think for the series to survive they need to keep the courtroom scenes to a minimum. I know it’s supposed to be a courtroom drama series, and that’s understood, but perhaps focusing more on the lives and personalities of the service members involved may attract more viewers. Just my dime’s worth. This is… Read more »
Give it a chance! So far so good
Renew its a great show
I love the show
I love it. Renew
I love i, but too much jumping around. Please renew
I have enjoyed the show. Plots – so far – are decent drama. Some discussion as to the difference between how the UCMJ works and how civilian Criminal and Civil justice works would be nice.
HOWEVER there are two changes that have to be made to the show to greatly cut down on the amount of cognitive dissonance Luke Mitchell creates.
1 He needs a regulation MARINE haircut
2 When in uniform and outside he needs to wear the appropriate cover.
Each one shows huge disrespect towards the traditions, history, and personnel of the Marine Corps
As Tristan pointed out, it would be a better show if they got their facts and other details straight. In the episode where a Navy commander is charged with ordering test results to be falsified so that all patients passed, the commander is shown in each courtroom scene wearing the dress uniform of a Navy lieutenant.
Good show, renew please!
The show is ok, but unfortunately, the writers can’t leave out political commentary in our entertainment. They also can’t get certain info correct, such as Ohio IS a Midwest state, not mid Atlantic as one of their writers had a character claim (see history of the Western Reserve, land ceded to the state of Connecticut by the King of England). Most Ohioans would take offense at that mischaracterization. Due to those issues and lack of excitement around the show, it would be no great loss in being cancelled.
Good show please renew
I like it a lot, please renew
Please renew, an intelligent show with a great cast!
Liked very much that kind of program, anything with uniforms and legal subjects.
Enjoyed the first episode
