ABC hasn’t had much luck launching a new reality show in quite some time so they tried something different this time — The Quest. Is it a ratings success? Will it be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead?
On The Quest, a dozen everyday people are transported to a fantasy world called Everealm where they have adventures and compete to be the last “true hero” remaining. The cast includes Peter Windhofer, Jan Hutter, Marcello de Nardo, Susanne Gschwendtner, Stephanie Buddenbrock, Florence Kasumba, Mai Duong Kieu, and Doug Tait.
The show debuted at the end of July to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.82 million viewers. It was a very poor start — even for a summer series — and the numbers have gotten worse as the weeks have gone by.

The season currently averages a paltry 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.96 million viewers. That’s worse than Sing Your Face Off, a celebrity reality show that was burned off on Saturday nights in June.
To be fair, The Quest has had to compete with football games in some markets and has also been preempted by games on some local ABC stations. The ratings are still very, very low however and the network knew that the series would be interrupted when they scheduled it — a sign that they probably had no faith in it.
In the end, it’s highly unlikely that ABC will want to take a chance on ordering a second season of The Quest.
But, what do you think? Do you like The Quest TV show? Do you think it should be renewed for a second season or should it be cancelled instead?
The time slot they assigned to The Quest was tragic. It’s almost as though they set it up to fail. Airing double episodes was like they couldn’t wait to have an end to it.
The Quest would fair better on ScFi or the Disney channel, if ABC doesn’t renew.
I think it would have been a hit if ABC had given it a chance to reach a larger audience.
Please don’t give up on this series!

I and my grand boys get together every week just to watch this show it was a very exciting time for us to look forward to getting togather . Please don’t cancel it. Its teaching some very great life skills , I like the fact that it teaches self worth , working together , reaching for goals. Its was amazing watching the boys grow. They are 9 and 10 years old , great family time
I believe this to be a better “reality” show than most of the programs on TV. It was complete entertainment for the entire family. It was like “medieval times” in our living room. Everyone had a favorite paladin they were rooting for and the girls of the family were ecstatic when Lina won the “true hero” title. We loved all the challenges and the story line. A refreshing program and in tune with the Disney/ABC demographic. I hope they continue this program or somebody buys the rights to produce it if ABC decides to cancel it.
I loved this show! It was very satisfying on so many levels. For lovers of high fantasy it filled a need. The concept was original for a reality show and unlike anything that been offered before. The world of Everrealm was crafted with realism and the people who inhabited it were well thought out and totally believable. Even though part of the dialogue was scripted the interaction between actors and Paladins was true to the spirit of Everrealm. I don’t have much faith that this show will be renewed, but if it will be, great! This show probably would have had higher ratings if it had relied on the same tired reality tv tactics that turn ME off from most shows – hypersexuality (to the point of perversion), excessive cursing, belittling, cliques, fake racism, and a humongous cash prize. There’s no troops of sob story losers and no head-chopping, blood letting, or nakedness so this show doesn’t appeal to the wider masses. dont cancle the quest i really enjoyed watching it combinding a storyline with real people acting out the adventure i would love to see a second seaso of the quest
I am begging the powers that be to PLEASE not cancel The Quest! My husband and I looked forward to this show every week, and had to wait until our kids were done with everything they had to do so we could all watch it together. It is a very good show, and it deserves a fighting chance. It is a great “family time” show that so many more would enjoy if given the chance. Not to mention the children it can reach out to that are like the contestants once were.

My daughter and grand daughter watch this show every week. Everytime we get into a show they cancel it. Quest has lots of twist and turns. Sure hope they renew it.
My husband and I don’t watch reality tv shows but loved this show from the first episode and couldn’t wait for the next one. Please bring this show back!! It’s a great mix of reality and drama acting. As mature adults, we aren’t interested in The Bachelor (we don’t want to watch someone kissing/fondling multiple women) or Big Brother. Hope to see The Quest back next summer!!
Love it!!!!! Fingers and toes crossed for a second season! It is so refreshing to have a show that represents and shows the good in people and brings back the values and morales that people seem to have forgotten about and lost….Everrealm forever!!!
My two sons 4 and 7 watched this with me and loved it. I’m overwhelmed by the quality and immersion of this show. I found myself tearing up at the finale. I never been so emotionally attached to a show. Please bring this show back.
Just a thought…have those of us who appreciate the qualities of this show, done enough to broadcast it to family and friends? I’m embarrassed to say I just shared this with my daughter and son-in-law this morning. Not good enough!!!

Oh my! What a surprise:that a show about combat featuring honor, valor, strength, heart and intelligence would not be a ratings hit ! Incredible production values that do not detract from the struggle or the focus on human values in action. It’s like reading a novel in TV format. Suspense, complexity in story and demand on each participant actually builds to a satisfying conclusion that leaves warmth in the heart, NOT a cheque in one person’s
Hands. I’m over 60 and can’t wait for the next installment. LONG LIVE EVERREALM!!!
