Though the network was up year-to-year and when compared to Body of Proof, it was a very poor start for The River. A significant number of viewers tuned out as the two-hour premiere progressed, a good sign that they won’t be back next week.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like The River TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

A plea from Italy: don’t close “The River”!!! I love it, my friends love it, “There’s magic out there” has become a common joke…please please please, don’t cancel it!! All the starts are slow and may take time, give time to this series ABC!!
RENEW IT!! This is my new favorite show!
Love, love, love the show! I was an avid Lost fan from beginning to end. There is enough reality, police drama’s and sitcom shows. I find myself steering away from regular television (i.e. CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX). AMC has caught my attention with Mad Men and the Walking Dead. As has FX with American Horror Story (I hope is coming back). HBO has numerous series as does many Cable networks. I cannot speak for everyone, only myself but you old networks need to become more creative or you will be obsolete, I hope you are paying attention to the fans!
(spoiler below) We wanted to like the show but it was written so bad and acted horribly we gave up after 3. But last night I was flipping the channels and about 5 mins in saw a creepy building they were investigating looking for emmet. So I watched to see how it was. Not long in I was reminded why I stopped. Ok, so you are in a dark creepy place, seen a room full of corpses, zombie type people are out to kill you and think emmet may be dead. They one lady uses the computer and the guy… Read more »
well. I thought that each week was going to be like trying to find Bruce greenwood
But after his rescue last night,,obviously returning to civilization is out
Of the question
So if abc renews which I hope..where do they go..there are many unanswered
Questions,, abc messed up dropping lost..now all are looking for a
Replacement..give the river a chance on renewal..lots of these horror-style
Series have worked
Bolla
LOVE IT!!!!
Love it! Easily the best new show. Really want to see what they do with a 2nd season. Renew!!
Renew it!!!! My coworker and I can’t wait to get in on Wednesday mornings to compare notes about what happened the night before. Besides, Once Upon A Time, this is the best show on ABC!! Love it!!
One of the best shows currently on TV! ABC will be an idiot not renewing it for at least couple of seasons.
This show is awesome! ABC needs to man up and sign another season, so much potential!
This series I believe should go at least 1 more season. If you look at where it started to now it has exponentially grown. Its view base has over doubled since its initial launch which means the social media advertising for the series has taken off! With the cast and the directors working on the series it can only get better! Those of us who are glued to this series have completely grown to love the characters. There are many potential episode/ story lines that can be spun off and have been built up to. Let them continue!!!!
This had better not turn out to be like another “firefly”. i love this show and think that there is so much potential if only give the chance.
Renew it. The best shows always start out a bit cold. Give them time.. it just keeps getting better. Last episode was spot on fabulous.
Renew it! My wife need a replacement from Lost and V.
i love this show omg if they cancel it im pulling out my stocks with abc and thats a fact so they better renew the river next year
