Though the network was up year-to-year and when compared to Body of Proof, it was a very poor start for The River. A significant number of viewers tuned out as the two-hour premiere progressed, a good sign that they won’t be back next week.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like The River TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

I think this show was one of the best shows I have seen since Lucky Louie on HBO!! The River kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I didn’t want to move and miss a single thing. I truly hope ABC puts out another great season 2!! PLZ ABC promote season 2
This show was boring and slow. I fell a sleep half the time.
I watched The River when it aired on ABC. I just finished watching it again on Netflix. It was even better the second time around. I understand the concept of ratings and having to cancel shows that don’t do as well as anticipated, but this show is a winner and ABC needs to realize this. It will make them money if given another chance.
The river has just gotten good and you are going to take it off. Leave something for the adult people to watch and enjoy. With each episode it make me more and mor curious to see what is going to happen next. Please leave it on. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE don’t leave us hanging (like the man in the tree). Thanks!
i loved the show so did my mom, grandma, and lots of other people i know i love it please please keep it on they left it as a mistorey anyway because the river closed on them there will be lots of mistoreys if they continued it i reaky hope they disided to
In the beginning I found The River a bit confusing. As I watched, I realized that it was very fast moving and I like that. I continued to watch because of it’s uniqueness. The finale definately left me wanting more. Please give it another chance.
I loved it just like there’s a few of the shows I like them I believe they think it’s not going to make it to the next season they need to make the final episode a real true final that completes the show instead of leaving us hanging and not bringing it back!!!!!
This is an awesome series! Keep it going – it was/is so well done! Loved all the characters and the story line was/is exceptional!
[…] this year, ABC introduced a thriller series called The River. It wasn’t a ratings success and will surely be cancelled later this month. Now, the network […]
Leave the river on. I enjoyed it. Better then some shows that are on.
