Brandon Routh has landed on his feet after leaving DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The actor starred in that CW series for five seasons. Routh will now join The Rookie on ABC for a possible season-long recurring role. His first appearance will come in the second episode of the upcoming third season. The drama series follows a diverse group of cops in Los Angeles and stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin Jr., Melissa O’Neil, and Eric Winter.
Deadline revealed the following about Routh’s role on The Rookie:
“Routh will play Doug Stanton, an eleven-year veteran of the LAPD, whose views prove to be polarizing at the Mid-Wilshire station. He has currently been booked for four episodes, with a possibility for more.”
The Rookie returns to ABC on January 3rd.

He will be a welcome addition to this well mixed cast. Can’t wait for Season 3 to begin. I hope there are many more to come.

Love the Rookie, especially Nathan Fillion! It’s been a long time – I have been cheating on John Nolan this fall, found myself mesmerized by ‘Jack’ on Virgin River, but, since the first time I saw Castle, have adored NF – can’t wait to see how John get’s out of the mess his ‘mentor’ put him in.
To the person posting earlier – I can’t imagine NF being in a series that didn’t have a bit of ‘comedy’ – he’s just as good at comedy as drama – which is quite excellent.
So looking forward to 1/3/2021!

I did watch it. I thought it had good pl0ts and okay acting. I thought that it had been cancelled when it didn’t show up in the fall.
Like this show a lot, but I wish some of the so called funny stuff would go away. It seems childish to me. But I am a great fan of this show anyway. I can’t wait too for the season to begin.
