TV show description:
From creator Alexi Hawley, The Rookie TV show is an hourlong comedy-drama that centers on John Nolan (Fillion). After a life-changing experience, this small-town guy decides to do just that — change his life.
Now, John is working toward his dream of being a Los Angeles police officer. The thing is, he is the oldest rookie on the LAPD, and the brass looks at him like the embodiment of a midlife crisis.
John’s co-workers include Talia Bishop (Williamson), a new training officer, and he’s her first student. The other training officers include the high-handed Tim Bradford (Winter) and Angela Lopez (Diaz), who is shooting to become a detective trainee.
Rounding out the cast of characters are rookies Lucy Chen (O’Neil), Jackson West (Makin), Sergeant Wade Grey (Jones), and Nolan’s C.O. Zoe Andersen (Mason).
If John fails to keep up with his young colleagues, as well as young criminals, he will be putting lives at risk, including his own. Maybe though, he can use the experience he’s gained with age, and the determination he has developed over the years, to make a real go of it. Either way, he’s got a secret weapon — his sense of humor.

Yes. I vote yes on more. Yeah, it doesn’t always follow police procedure, and it’s Hollywood, but it has a good mix of comedy, suspense, and drama. Great acting. I look forward to it every week.

I have friends who are Police Officers and Fire Fighters, some of what you portray is accurate, some is not, some is good, some is not, but Life has good and bad all the time. I still hope Nathan Fillion and all of the Actors will have work regardless of the choice you make.

I would really like to see The Rookie continue for more seasons. It’s one of my favorites.
The Rookie is one of our FAVORITE series and we look forward to each episode.
The Rookie & Young Sheldon are about the only network programs I watch.
Entertaining show and I hope it gets renewed. However, as a retired 35 year police officer the actors need to keep their hands off their weapons ( worst offenders officer Chen and Bradford). This is one of the first things rookies learn and can be seen as offensive to some people. Good technical advisers can teach them how to stand.

Love the cast, like the mix of comedy with as well of the personal stories of the characters. It’s not just a shoot em up, cop show with impossible situations. Should not be cancelled.
