As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like When Calls the Heart is cancelled or renewed for season 10. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the ninth season episodes of When Calls the Heart here. *Status update below.
A Hallmark Channel romantic drama series, When Calls the Heart stars Erin Krakow, Jack Wagner, Kevin McGarry, Chris McNally, Andrea Brooks, Kavan Smith, and Pascale Hutton. Others in the cast include Ben Rosenbaum, Johannah Newmarch, Martin Cummins, Kayla Wallace, Viv Leacock, Natasha Burnett, Vienna Leacock, Elias Leacock, Hrothgar Mathews, Loretta Walsh, and Amanda Wong. Inspired by the Janette Oke novel, the TV series follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow), a young teacher from a high society background. She’s assigned to teach in a coal country classroom and it’s a life-changing experience. Now a widow and single mother, Elizabeth faces new challenges but enters into a new relationship with mysterious gambler Lucas Bouchard (McNally). In season nine, Hope Valley is in a state of growth, with the foundry’s progress and the evolution of key relationships. The Mayoral race has the town buzzing with a few members of the town running against one another. Elizabeth and Lucas focus on their relationship beyond courtship, and as she gets to know Lucas better, she learns about his past which gives Elizabeth pause about their future.

*6/17/2022 update: Hallmark Channel has renewed When Calls the Heart for a 10th season.
Love the show and so glad Elizabeth didn’t pick the boring Mountie! Miss Carson, though.
It doesn’t matter who Elizabeth is with as much as the fact she now acts like a mistress not a school teacher. All of a sudden she is sultry and found dresses with not so high necklines.
It’s ok for her to be in love but not turn into a saloon gal.
A little more decorum back to Elizabeth please.
Wonderful Show for the First Episode of the 9th Season of When Calls the Heart Series. The episode starting cactching up on everyone including the wonderful love story between Lucas and Elizabeth. Love this couple and now with the addition of Hyland Goodrich as little Jack they will be a wonderful family in the making. Love Rosie and Lee finding their way to what they want to do and wonderful to see the children back. Hope to see Nathan find a new love. So many stories to tell. We need this show with the world in such a sad state.
Elizabeth and Lucas. Go ahead and cancel.
This use to be my favorite show but I will not watch it anymore
You have paired the wrong two up. Really disappointed that you did! Lucus has a past & I don’t think he is totally on the up & up now. He is a shady business man that don’t like to lose!
Unfortunately, JT said E & L would be staying together in the show. Hallmark continues to market Lucas as mischievous!
not watching after a disappointing Season 8. hope this show is cancelled
I love When Calls the Heart and I wish there were more like it. I hope it doesn’t get canelled.
Love the show, especially Lucas and Elizabeth.
I thought overall the show was good. I just cannot wrap my head around Elizabeth and Lucas. They do not make sense to me. I will give it time and see, but he is a saloon owner and that in and of itself is reason enough for Elizabeth to stay away from him. Also sad to see that Jesse and Clara have moved away. Looks like some interesting stories coming up though!
At least you are giving the show a chance! I really have a hard time with JT writing style, and he is the show runner. Kevin McGarry said WCTH is becoming a soap opera. I really had mixed feelings over episode 1 and will opt to watch episode 2 after it airs. Jt wrote this one also.
Episode one of season nine was preempted on my network. Didn’t get to see it. Direct TV channel 312.
Love this show
Love this show we need more like it
Love this show!!! I am disappointed Elizabeth did not get her Mountie. Lucas is not a good match.:(
When Elizabeth chose Lucas at the end of last season I was done with WCTH. In season 1 Elizabeth seem to be so humble and sweet. Elizabeth and Jack had real chemistry. Made the show more interesting, could hardly wait for Sunday nite to come. Elizabeth and Nathan have more chemistry then Elizabeth and Lucas. I just can’t stand watching Elizabeth with Lucas together, it seems so fake. In fact I don’t even like to watch Erin in other Hallmark movies. Everything she does looks like she tries to be something she is not. But after Dan left WCTH, then… Read more »
She left her rich life to become a teacher to teach the children of a s.all town. Now she is back with the rich again. Not going to watch. The story line would h e been much better with Nathan and Allie. Combine families to become one.
I agree! It should have been Nathan, Lucas does not make sense for Elizabeth and baby Jack. So upset with Hallmark.
When calls the hardest turned into glorified soap opera that isn’t even correct to its time women would not be sitting in a saloon with a single man especially when she’s a teacher and she’s dating another man she wouldn’t be teaching a man who she didn’t choose how to drive they’re also wouldn’t be hot air balloons in 1919 or 1920 especially in a poor coal mining town they’re so focused on Elizabeth and Lucas’s love story that they forget everyone else I am done with this show I’m going to switch over to GAC or up TV every… Read more »
John Tinker has a writing style that is not for me. I barely made it through episode 1, and he is also writing episode 2 so i will pass and come back on three. I realize with him being the show runner he rights many of the episodes. Kevin Mcgarry said that this was becoming a soap opera. The demo for 18-49 is down. not sure how they can get this up! Maybe 10 will be their last season. They are really trying to find an audience for nathan. Feeling butterflies is coming this Saturday, which does not interest me,… Read more »
