Last year, Wynonna Earp was reportedly renewed for seasons four and five but financial issues put the show’s future in question. Things worked out for season four but season five still hasn’t been officially announced. Will this Syfy series indeed continue or, have plans for season five been cancelled? A horror western, Wynonna Earp stars Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, and Dominique Provost-Chalkley. Based on the Beau Smith comic series, the story centers on lawman Wyatt Earp’s demon-fighting great-great-granddaughter (Scrofano), who inherited his abilities, as well as his legendary gun. As a special agent of the US Marshals’ secret Black Badge Division, Wynonna worked with her younger sister, Waverly (Provost-Chalkley), Agent Xavier Dolls (Shamier Anderson), and Doc Holliday (Rozon), to end to the Earp Curse, for good. In the fourth season, the infamous Earp Curse is broken, and Wynonna would love to be celebrating but instead has to rescue everyone she loves, save the town of Purgatory, and take on her most diabolical, Earp-hating enemy yet — all without her trustworthy gun, Peacemaker.

For comparisons: Season three of Wynonna Earp on Syfy averaged a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 472,000 viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays.

PLEASE PLEASE have a season five of Wynonna Earp!!!! And 6 etc. It’s a diverse, funny, serious, campy well writte, directed and acted show! Not many of those exist.
One of my favorite shows. Season 4 has been well worth the wait. Fingers crossed that we get a 5th season, and hopefully even more. Willing to donate to a Gofundme if need be. Still waiting for IDW to come up with some more merch. #fiveforwynonna

Should definitely be renewed for a fifth season. Just started watching Wynonna Earp in this post COVID-19 world, and binge watched seasons 1-3 and have been watching season 4 as it airs. I now consider myself an Earper.
I started watching during the pandemic as well and was able to be up to date by the premier of season 4. I’m a huge Earper now as well. I really feel like these ratings are off. I’ve never seen a show deserve a 5th season more.
Hell yes renew for season 5 season 6 and on and on. Love this show. It’s got all the feels and all the action. Just love it and 100% yes, bring it back for season 5. There is Earpers all over the world that can’t view the tv show live. I personally bought the season pass on Itune. Thank god this show is back in our lives.

Yes 5th season these ratings are wrong because its hard for everyone to watch it and we have friends around the world that have to wait days to watch it.
I agree! I am trying to help friends in Europe and Asia catch up by trying to organize a Netflix watch party. Most places only have season 2 and season 3 on Netflix. In some countries, Syfy isn’t showing the show. Gotta help our fellow Earpers, you know?
Honestly, these numbers are making very little sense to me. I have been monitoring social media traffic. A lot of people aren’t watching live. 10 pm too late for some people on a Sunday night. Not to mention the NHL… which is normally over by now… is still running games at 10:30pm on the West coast. Even then, these ratings are provided by Nielsen (who realistically are more interested in ad viewership data than the show itself) who don’t track every household in the US, nor do they track more modern ways of watching a TV series. I agree with you. On a FB Wynonna Earp chat group, we were brainstorming on how can we help boost the ratings. You know we earpers don’t just watch an episode once. There are Earpers here in the US watching it multiple times when an episode first airs and after it airs thinking it would help boost the ratings. But when Nielsen ratings doesn’t even count your household because you don’t have the box, it is frustrating.
I agree Nelson ratings are very outdated. I will watch the episode several times after it airs. It is true 10PM can be late for some especially with work on Monday, but it doesn’t mean people aren’t watching the show. People simply aren’t truly being counted.

What bad episode? I have heard rumors it’s season 4 episode 3 but I’m not sure. Do folks know Melanie Scrofano, who plays Wynonna Earp, directed that episode? She added a lot of her own humor in that episode and it had a lot of references to old episodes and a few Canadian terms like Bush party. I was laughing so hard and felt so touched Mel felt safe to share her debut with us

The writing on WE has been awesome – something for everyone. Season 4 doesn’t disappoint. I’m late to being an “Earper” but this show has my complete devotion. Kudos to all.
