There won’t be a second act for Ruby Red. Netflix has cancelled the AJ and the Queen TV series after one season of 10 episodes.
AJ and the Queen stars RuPaul Charles, Izzy G., Michael-Leon Wooley, Josh Segarra, Katerina Tannenbaum, and Tia Carrere. In the story, Ruby Red (Charles) is a bigger-than-life but down-on-her-luck drag queen. She travels across America from club to club in a rundown 1990’s R/V with her unlikely sidekick AJ (G.), a recently orphaned, tough-talking and scrappy 11-year-old stowaway. As the two misfits — one tall and one small — travel from city to city, Ruby’s message of love and acceptance winds up touching people and changing their lives for the better.
The series was created by Charles and Michael Patrick King, a creator on shows like 2 Broke Girls and The Comeback. The first season of AJ and the Queen was released on January 10th of this year.
Charles broke the news that the show has been cancelled. On Twitter, he wrote, “End of the road for “AJ and The Queen”. Netflix has decided to not extend our road trip across America. Thank you for all the love & support. We’re so very proud of the work.”

I was looking for season 2
At first it was slow & the shots were not great….but it grew on me and I loved it. Sad that Netflix cancelled it…Guess you need to check with Prime or other networks….its worth a second season.
I was actually binging the show and really excited for the next season. Total shame.
I cannot believe Netflix have decided not to have a second season of AJ & the Queen. It was an uplifting & educational programme was produced directed & all actors where amazing to watch. I am extremely disappointed
I loved season one and was so looking forward to a second season! Why is it always the best and original programs that get cancelled? while dull programs that seem to copycat each other to on and on?!?

I am so bummed, I absolutely loved this show. My sister turned me on to it & I binge watched it, I couldn’t stop watching it & when it was done I was so looking forward to the next season. It was so different so well done and special, the chemistry between them was fabulous and I just knew there was going to be another season, can’t believe it’s been canceled!!!

Anyone who can watch season 1 and go on living normally without seeing season two is insane. I watched season 1 in 2 days and just have to know what happens next. Please bless us with a season 2 ms RUBY RED, the world needs more glitter and joy. More beauty. Less shows up murder. I mean really. Can this world handle yet another cop show . Please.
