Though AMC has had some popular scripted series that have run for years, many others have been cancelled after just one season. How is the current crop of shows doing? Which will be cancelled or renewed? We’ll have to wait and see.
Scripted AMC Network shows listed: 61st Street, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, The Beast Must Die, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Dark Winds, Dietland, A Discovery of Witches, Dispatches from Elsewhere, Fear the Walking Dead, Feed the Beast, Halt and Catch Fire, Hell on Wheels, Humans, Into the Badlands, Kevin Can F**k Himself, Killing Eve, Lodge 49, Low Winter Sun, Lucky Hank, Mad Men, McMafia, The Night Manager, NOS4A2, Parish, Preacher, The Son, Soulmates, Tales of the Walking Dead, The Terror, Turn: Washington’s Spies, The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
Last update: Most recent ratings added for Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire.
There’s lots of data that AMC execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. Here’s an updated listing of all of their recent/current primetime scripted shows.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also view them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
What do you think? Are you surprised by any of the ratings? Which shows should be doing better? Which one do you think will be cancelled next?
I’m on the lower end of the demographic (young 20s) and I Love Turn. Fantasy has no rules, so creators can do as they please, but Historical Fiction has to be faithful to the facts with interesting characters/plot twists- lest it become a documentary. Turn’s characters/story are wonderful!! It deserves a proper ending compared with the other fictional drivel out there!
Best show on tv please renew for S3 and release S2 on dvd. Thanks in advance.
Turn is the best show on TV. Please, please renew.
Please consider us “Older” viewers who are 40-plus.
Also, time slot was really bad.
Promote it more AMC.
Been a Walking Dead viewer since the first season.
Probably won’t watch it this year. Kind of predictable to me.
Today is July 4th and so I feel compelled to write to plead with this network to renew TURN for new seasons that will carry on until the end of our war of independence. This is a quality show that is “picking up”. The 18-49 year old demographic are not the only ones who watch TV. Not everyone wants to watch zombies! I know I have spread the word about TURN and more and more people started to watch and love the show. I do enjoy many of the shows the younger demographic watch but also strongly want to watch… Read more »
The Walking Dead deserves every one of its record-smashing viewers and then some. It is THE most exciting, electrifying, mesmerizing, and entertaining show in the history of television. Every episode is filled with relentless tension and non-stop thrills. In its last two seasons, the series has been the most watched of ANY on cable OR broadcast television in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic.
There are not enough tv shows on that will educate and entertain you simultaneously. Turn definitely needs to be renewed.
Loved Turn. Admittedly found it on Netflix. Wish I had seen it sooner!! Please renew.
TURN does not deserve to be on air anymore…and I think the numbers are on my side. It can’t be a cheap show to produce, it is a dreadful soap opera with lots of awful aspects to it. They took an excellent subject and ruined it completely. TURN was promoted more than well enough and look at the rating chart. People have quit watching. Why do you think Season Two was only 3 episodes long, after a hiatus of one year? It is obvious TURN will be cancelled next. I for one am glad to see it go.
Um, not sure what show you’re watching, man. S.2 of TURN has been a full 10+ eps. The storyline is riveting, better espionage than HOMELAND, better characters than GoT and the most iconoclastic portrayal on tv (all spectrums) in George Washington. A great show for Canadians, too, b/c most of the prominent British on TURN move to Canada after the Revolution to continue careers in politics (Simcoe), business (Robert Rogers) and the military.
I totally agree!
Turn started season 2 at 0.827 overall, dipped in episode 4 at 0.591, and steadily picked up for most of the rest of the season and back up to 0.933 by the end. All they need to do is give it a half decent time slot and promote it a bit more.
Also wouldn’t kill them to put S2 on Netflix/Amazon PRIOR to a week before S3…I have read so many comments online about people coming across Turn on Netflix and realizing that this is actually a fantastic show.
Please renew!
TURN is one of the best shows currently on TV. It needs more promotion, a better time slot, and a chance to continue growing an audience. Please renew this worthwhile show.
Re TURN: Washington’s Spies – AMC, you’re looking at the wrong demographics….we, who actually studied .American History, are many, and have a lot of money to buy products. We also are NOT ditching cable like your demographic audience!
Love, Love, Love Turn! We look forward to Monday’s episode every week!!! Please, Please Renew!!!!
Thanks!!!!
Love TURN. Never miss an episode, we look forward to Mondays. Please renew!
Loved Turn. Hope it’s renewed for a 3rd Season. 2nd Season was better than the first.
Love TURN. Please renew.
I am a viewer Turn and really enjoy the show. I need to know the way I can watch season 2 from the beginning. Can anyone advise me?
I watched season 1 on Amazon Prime.

You can also watch season 2 on Amazon Prime. Last Episode just aired on Monday so you can bing watch it this weekend 😉
I love the show. Hope that AMC renews it for season 3 and further. It is a story which deserves to be told until the end.
