Will Simon Cowell be back for the American Idol finale this week? Recently, the new America’s Got Talent judge addressed his possible return to the FOX singing series, Deadline reports.

Cowell was one of the original judges on American Idol, appearing on the show between 2002 and 2010.

During a panel for America’s Got Talent last week, Cowell said he might not make it for the big American Idol finale, saying there “is a date clash” and he doesn’t know yet if he’ll go.

Earlier, we reported that his fellow co-judge, Paula Abdul, will appear in the finale alongside previous winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

The three-night American Idol finale begins on April 5th, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, on FOX.
