Showtime is developing a crisis. The Cuba Missile Crisis that is. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network is developing a mini-series about the historical 1962 event.
The project is based on the book The Armageddon Letters by James G. Blight and Janet M. Lang.
Released in 2012, the book re-examines the Cuban Missile Crisis with the aid of newly released documents from the event’s central figures: President John F. Kennedy, Nikita Khrushchev, and Fidel Castro.
Phil Alden Robinson is set to write and direct the mini-series alongside Albert S. Ruddy, Mike Medavoy, Benjamin Anderson, and Todd Martens as executive producers.
What do you think? Have you read The Armageddon Letters? Would you watch the Showtime mini-series?
