Although Arrow is no longer The CW’s best-rated TV show, by the end of season five, it remained a top-four performer in terms of both its demo ratings and total viewership. Still, the law of diminishing returns usually starts to ramp up around this time in a show’s life. Is this the beginning of the end? Will Arrow be cancelled or renewed for season seven? Stay tuned.
A CW superhero adventure drama set in the DC Comics universe, Arrow stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Willa Holland, Paul Blackthorne, Echo Kellum, Rick Gonzalez, Juliana Harkavy, and Katie Cassidy. Five years after surviving a ship-wreck in the South China sea, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Amell) returns home a changed man. Now, disguised as the Green Arrow, he’s back in Star City and bent on righting his family’s wrongs. Although Oliver has solidified his crime-fighting force, enemies from his past return to threaten it, leaving him to reconsider his relationships with his chosen family.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/18 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
For comparisons: The fifth season of Arrow averaged a 0.62 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.755 million total viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Arrow TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a seventh season on The CW?
4/2/18 update: The CW has ordered a seventh season of Arrow for the 2018-19 season. Details here.
First season of Arrow is still the best for me. That is bad when a show has 6 season. I stopped watching somewhere near the end of season 3 because I was fed up with the writers treating one of my all time favorite comicbook characters (Black Canary) like ****. Everybody on the show was writen to give her crap when everybody knows she ends up being one of the best fighters in the DC universe ( at least in the comics). I had just decided to give Arrow another chance because friends of mine told me that Laurel Lance… Read more »
Black Canary is still in the show.
No, she’s not. Tina is not Dinah Drake and she’s sure not Black Canary. She’s a poorly disguised attempt to replace Laurel.
You guys are speaking of that pyshco ***** that is for the FIRST time NOT Laural but that POOR “replacement” for Laurel as BC, right? I really don’t like her..Arrow NEEDS to get rid of what’s her name, FAKE BC and what’s his name with the daughter..I had no problems with that AA guy that is F partner. Now he just need to go too..Arrow really ONLY needs Digg-Felicity-Oliver..The rest should’ve NEVER been made regular..It’s what’s killing the show.
I was never a huge Laurel fan but I actually agree with this. Dinah is awful and really ruined S6. They should’ve just kept Laurel on.
I returned as an Arrow fan during Season 5 after skipping part of season 3 and most of 4 due to the “Olicity” silliness. I had hoped for season 6 until they brought it back. Oliver and Felicity are better off as team mates.
The reason why they put Oliver and Felicity together is because of Emily and Stephen’s chemistry and there is no denying they do have it on and off set. Something that Katie and Stephen just didn’t have their relationship looked so phony but Katie and Colin they had it. I do agree that S4 was silly and I didn’t want to bring him up but that was the fault of Andrew Kriesberg. Oliver and Felicity are written so much better this season first and utmost we all have somebody we want to build a family with even Comic Book Characters.… Read more »
Ouch. I guess it wasn’t that great an idea to run an episode on Thanksgiving.
Yeah same thing happened for the flash on Halloween
I would like to see the show continue. They have a great cast – and it’s a very character driven show. I feel that gives it continued potential and depth. Oliver is not perfect, but none of us are in real life either. I think he has grown though. Nor, do I feel he is going to entirely leave the Arrow mantle with Diggle – Arrow is part of who he is. 🙂 The staff, I feel is pretty good at continuing and wrapping up story lines – it might take them awhile, but they will get there. Because it’s… Read more »
Arrow will get a 7th season as someone else mentioned. 7 sounds like a good number to end things off. We get a third crossover event and then maybe some other hero show takes over. The ratings are on par with the 3 of the other DC shows, but it’s in its 7th season so its naturally more expensive.
Season 5 was a miss for me. Too much stupid Oliver. One viewer can watch lead character be stupid only a certain time, and 5 time was way to much. Anyway, I hate leaving shows, but last season was legit nonsense, is this season any better? I mean, ratings aren’t great. I don’t watch anything else on CW, is this the last season, what do you think? I hate it when shows go indefinitely, and I see CW has a tendency to renew shows with almost nonexistent rating. This show isn’t exactly critic’s fave (lot of sites I follow just… Read more »
This just might be the final season if the ratings keep declining. The story is line is not very interesting, I don’t think the writers care anymore.
I think season 7 will be the final season. Everybody’s contract is up after that.
UGH, with this news about Arrow’s producer Andrew Kreisberg all over the media, who has been accused of sexual misconduct toward crew/cast, I kinda lost interest to even watch Arrow – read the articles – what a toxic environment to work in! Pass on the whole Berlantiverse. There are a lot better shows around. Thanks to all for the answers! Hope the cast&crew will found satisfaction and that guy to be fired/blacklisted in industry.
Best superhero on The CW, Best action scenes compare to other shows, Arrow is a hero like Batman without any superpowers , Dislike childish and bull**** shows like The Flash and Supergirl which are for small kids, Arrow is truly a Batman on TV. Glad to support it by buying the season 6 on iTunes.
You haven’t been watching Supergirl lately if you think Supergirl is still for small kids. Flash, you are probably right.
I agree with Sam I think Arrow is the best to because I don’t like the superpower stuff I think a real hero is one who fights with his heart for people not with running fast are flying. Sorry they are kid shows Arrow is a show for the whole family. keep it on you have to admit the others wouldn’t be good without Green Arrow.
Respectfully, I disagree. I believe the other shows can hold their own without the show
Let’s agree to disagree. The show has been going down the toilet these days and the storylines are becoming badly written. Flash and Supergir got it together compared to Arrow show.
Ratings could’ve went down last night because direct tv stopped carrying the cw in some places unfortunately one of those places is where I live
I’m done I love it need to go my shows the flash and riverdale don’t care about so many do too.
People comparing Riverdale to Arrow, they are two completely different shows. Riverdale is just OK. I say continue the Arrow. It started the Arrowverse after Smallville ended. People just like to trash talk it. If people listened to half of you Supergirl wouldn’t be on, The Flash, or LOT. You all bash everything. Especially, the comicbook fan boys. You aren’t going to like every episode. That’s the way shows work. But, Arrow is still a strong show. They shouldn’t have moved it to Thursday nights, where it is too much competition. They will renew the show. Tellys take is wrong,… Read more »
i watched last weeks “Arrow” just cancel this show already its no longer intresting how could you have Oliver no longer be ‘The Arrow” thats just stupid im done watching this show, should have ended it after season 4 because season 5 had a stupid storyline if it weren’t for Emily Bett Rickards (felicity) i would have stopped watching it after the 3 episode of season 5 i wouldnt even make a full season 6
Thanks so much understand me a lot need say goodbye season final one it done no point continue it middle ratings go downhill bottom that terrible show superhero. Really like The Flash, Riverdale and last but least Gotham favorite superhero.
After watching this weeks episode, I am done. You nailed it about Oliver no longer being the Arrow. Just a stupid story line. The show is nothing like it was when it first started, grounded in reality. Now its no different then all the other superhero shows. Goodbye Ollie.
Please continue the series…there are still so many more villians to defeat in the comic book realm. Need to keep all characters that u have…
Really garage giggle is not arrow tired like riverdale and the flash now need go sorry folks time up.
Please end it sad to say tired of it love riverdale and the flash so good.
Are you crazy? arrow is one of the better programs and writers and producers can still do alot more with the show.
“Arrow” was good in beginning but its time to cancel it, bringing all this high tech devices is whats ruined the show and storylines havent been good since damon dark
Need to end tired of it no more arrow Stephan amell quits after this season it time for end for good.
I think they’ve taken “Arrow” far enough. It has been a great chapter
in TV history, but they’ll end up running out of things to do. Time for something else. Time for someone else. A female vigilante, maybe?
Arrow is already been renewed for a season 7
Arrow hasn’t been cancelled or renewed for a seventh season yet.
They have Supergirl for the female vigilante.
cancelled I like it out of dc comics cw show are the flash and riverdale are awesome shows many more to come.
