Television history is littered with TV shows that have, for one reason or another, lost their lead actors. Some series are cancelled within a year while other shows continue on for many more seasons. What will become of this CW show? Will Batwoman be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.
A superhero drama, Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie, Dougray Scott, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, and Camrus Johnson. The show is based on the DC Comics character and initially revolved around Kate Kane (Ruby Rose), a strong woman who never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante — Batwoman. In the second season, Ryan Wilder (Leslie) discovers Kate’s Batsuit and sees it as her chance to finally be powerful and no longer a victim as she survives in the tough streets of Gotham. Kate has gone missing and citizens of Gotham believe Batwoman has fled the city following a public stand-off with Commander Jacob Kane (Scott) and the Crows. Kate’s disappearance hits hardest at home where Jacob, Sophie (Tandy), Luke (Johnson), Mary (Kang) and even Alice (Skarsten) each struggle with the devastating news in their own way. Meanwhile, the False Face Society tightens its grip on Gotham distributing a perilous new drug known as Snakebite, “Bruce Wayne” (Warren Christie) finds his way home to wreak havoc, Safiyah (Shivaani Ghai) surfaces with plans for revenge, and a new set of villains descends on the city. It’s clear that Batwoman is needed.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: Season one of Batwoman on The CW averaged a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 995,000 viewers.

The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

Garbage show but the lead is not a bad actress however she probably put a massive dent in her career with this dumpster fire.
Bigots gonna bigot ♂️♂️ Batwoman season 2 is a huge improvement over season 1.
This isn’t about gender or sexuality.It’s about storytelling vs. SJW crusading. There’s a huge difference, and the CW has long since forgotten that.
PS……only good actress in show….is Rachel Skarsten….she’s got some chops

Seriously, When you recast the lead at least get an athletic actor, this actress couldn’t run or throw a punch.
Someone needs to put this show out of it’s misery. It’s obvious they are just going through the motions at this point and already recycling story lines and plot elements. New Season, New Batwoman, but they’re so stuck on Ruby Rose\Kate Kane she’s still the focus and overshadowing everything.

Worst show I have ever watched. That may be hypoblic, but it’s also true. Terrible writing, appalling acting, dreadful directing. All CW shows look cheap, but in this one especially so.the Batmobile is literally a Dodge Charger with bat wings glued to it.

No. Just No. I know that people are going to come to the defense of this re-invented version of the Batwoman character because of the actress’ skin color, but the new Batwoman is all wrong. A new version of the superhero was the wrong way to go. They should have recast Kate Kane with a different actress. Recasting a role has been done in other shows, it could have been done in this one and maintained the Kate Kane of the comics and the character that is truly Batwoman. CW is not about ratings or making money. They are all about politics and pandering.
Not to mention that the announcement of who they would be replacing Batwoman with happened during the BLM protests last year. And don’t get me wrong I support BLM, which is why the suspiciously timed announcement kind of annoyed me, especially since I was looking forward to seeing where they would take the story with Kate in season 2. These ratings have to be the LOWEST for any NEW TheCW Scripted Show produced for the network (Not an overseas pick-up) – They promoted it well enough and there was enough press outside the fan media.
You may not have noticed but the ratings for 99% of shows are way down this year. CW shows attract young viewers and more viewers watch online and that’s not reflected in the regular ratings. CW is just starting to air their regular shows this month and Batwoman was one of their top shows last year. I have no doubt there will be much lower ratings for shows like Nancy Drew, Dynasty, Charmed, and Legends of Tomorrow. But, even if that’s not true, it doesn’t matter. This show was closing in on cancellation like numbers as the season came to a close last year. It lost the main star and comes back with really bad debut. It only managed to beat out All American Stories (CW). It had the largest audience drop off of any show that night. Legends of Tomorrow, the only comparable on your list, never had an episode last season pull a .10 demo, in fact, I don’t think any Arrowverse show last season had a demo that low including the poorly performing Black Lightning. Sure, the show’s ratings dropped last season. That’s what happens to 99% of shows. Some people stop watching and others just wait for on-demand. As I said before, if you want to be objective, I don’t think you can put this season’s ratings against last season. Look at all of the shows that have premiered this season. Except for a few, they are all way down. Shows are getting lower traditional ratings than they ever have in history. What will be interesting is to see how THE FLASH – the network’s #1 show will do when it returns. Yes, TheCW puts ALOT of importance on the shows digital presence on TheCW app (Still free with ads) – but BATWOMAN had heavy publicity outside of the fan circles and core audience – it should have done better. Yes, EVERYONE had had drops this year – shows that appeal to both young viewers and older viewers (Even NCIS and BLUE BLOODS on CBS have seen drops but both are still in the “safe” zone.) if you want to be objective, you can take numbers from multiple sources, and conclusion will be that batwoman was a bad show during S1 and even worse show in S2
We’re talking about the Nielsen ratings. The show has flaws, as many do. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Typically, if a person doesn’t like a series, they just don’t watch. With this show, some people seem obsessed with wanting it to be canceled. Like it’s a very personal need. Maybe that has something to do with the main character being gay. Maybe they’re struggling with something inside of themselves. Let the downvotes begin.
Or maybe its because the show is infamously bad. Its known as the worst show on television. Nobody cares about cast or characters sexual orientation, and having a diverse cast doesn’t protect a show from criticism. Believe it or not, most people only care about the quality of content, and this show is hot garbage. Some of the worst writing in televised history are on display in this show.

Actually, I kind of like the show. The better question is: why do people who hate a show seem to be obsessed with its failure? I am fascinated by the number of people who hate the Batwoman series with a passion and try to contort the numbers to fit their beliefs. Why? There are a 100 shows I don’t care for and just ignore. Anybody else hates the show? It was somewhat tolerable last year but this season is much worse. The ratings are indicating it
Loved the show it will get better as it goes this 1st episode layed the ground work. I think next week will be even better.
