TV show description:
This drama is about a multi-generational family who are dedicated to New York City law enforcement.
New York City’s Police Commissioner, Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), is the head of both the police force and the Reagan family. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics. Those same politics plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry (Len Cariou), during his stint as Chief.
A widowed father of three boys and a girl, Frank’s essentially a blue-collar guy who’s worked his way up through the ranks. It hasn’t been an easy journey, particularly because he lost his eldest son in the line of duty.
Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) is the oldest surviving Reagan son and a seasoned detective. He’s married, the father of two kids, and a hot-tempered Iraqi War vet who occasionally uses dubious tactics to solve cases.
The sole woman in the Reagan family is Erin Reagan Boyle (Bridget Moynahan). She’s a New York Assistant District Attorney and a newly single parent of a teenage daughter. She also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father. It was her mother’s wish that she and her younger brother stay in law enforcement but off the police force. She and Danny have each other’s backs but know how to push each other’s buttons too.
Jamie (Will Estes) is the youngest Reagan, fresh out of Harvard Law and the family’s “golden boy.” Unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and is now a rookie cop, much to the chagrin of his fiancee. Things become extra complicated when he’s asked to become part of a clandestine police investigation that the rest of the family knows nothing about — something that could impact the family’s legacy forever.

What do you think? Do you like the Blue Bloods TV show? Do you think it should be ending or renewed for a 17th season on CBS?
My husband and I love Blue Bloods. We look forward to Thursday’s 9am to 3am and Friday night’s at 10. Why is it not on today. This Thursday it was replaced by numbers on ion channel. We can watch shows over and over again. Please don’t cancel the show.
I just love the Blue Bloods, it is one of my favorite tv shows, I just love Tom Selleck, I hope this show stays on from generation to generation.
Only discovered Blue Bloods recently. Has become my FAVORITE very quickly. Please don’t cancel – would ruin my Friday night and sour me on CBS!
In watching Blue Bloods in Friday night, I continue to get a sick feeling that there will be no 6th season. Which for me would be a dis-appointment. I enjoy that program a lot. I was speculating that the show’s final episode could be: a) Francis (Tom Selleck) father has another heart attack and does not make it prompting Francis to decide to retire and recommends Danny’s former detective sergeant who is a special assistant to the Commissioner to take over the job. Danny does the unthinkable and divorces his wife in order to marry Jackie. Jamie decides he wants… Read more »
For Danny to divorce Linda is unthinkable!!! One of the best things going for this program is the family values.
The absolute BEST show of the weekly line-up!! We record every episode as to not miss one. The family values you present and Outstanding actors… just can’t say enough good about this show! Thank you for bring us such quality showmanship!!
Three Cheers for CBS
Love the show however please do not allow Frank to kiss the Father’s ring ever again. He is just a man.
I love the show, the characters simply fit except Danny’s partner Marisa Ramirez. Why try to snow us in statements of her beauty . She is a likeable character not a femme fatale with knock knees and absolutely no girl curves.
Jennifer Esposito was the total package great actress with a great face, voice and body. I love all other member of the cast. As a mother I tend to think why isn’t there one of his kids with his height? Realism…..
Our family loves BLUE BLOODS we love the people and the family dinner too. Our favoret show
No doubt, Blue Bloods is a quality show and will likely play on for years to come. I would like to see the “family dinner gathering” every Sunday take on (in other words) invite some of the less fortunate to their Sunday feast. My mouth waters every time I see that extravagant food on the table knowing I’m unable to have any part of it because I’m not as fortunate as the Reagans. I would also like to see less emphasis placed upon religion (and yes, I know the Reagans are Irish Catholics), as several of its episodes focus on… Read more »
Well done!! Kudos to all for giving us great stories, believable people, and something to think about. The discussions around the Reagan dinner table remind me of the debates we had growing up. And the ‘little ones’ were also banned to the kitchen table when the ‘grown up’ talk got a bit too hot. During a time in our history when cops are put in a hazy goldfish bowl, this series shines light in to their most difficult lives. As we only discovered the show on our new Roku, we look forward to catching the series on CBS.
Please keep Blue Blood on best show on TV. Tom is the best. Thanks.
I’m glad they will be on for another season. I love this show alot.
