TV show description:
This drama is about a multi-generational family who are dedicated to New York City law enforcement.
New York City’s Police Commissioner, Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), is the head of both the police force and the Reagan family. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics. Those same politics plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry (Len Cariou), during his stint as Chief.
A widowed father of three boys and a girl, Frank’s essentially a blue-collar guy who’s worked his way up through the ranks. It hasn’t been an easy journey, particularly because he lost his eldest son in the line of duty.
Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) is the oldest surviving Reagan son and a seasoned detective. He’s married, the father of two kids, and a hot-tempered Iraqi War vet who occasionally uses dubious tactics to solve cases.
The sole woman in the Reagan family is Erin Reagan Boyle (Bridget Moynahan). She’s a New York Assistant District Attorney and a newly single parent of a teenage daughter. She also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father. It was her mother’s wish that she and her younger brother stay in law enforcement but off the police force. She and Danny have each other’s backs but know how to push each other’s buttons too.
Jamie (Will Estes) is the youngest Reagan, fresh out of Harvard Law and the family’s “golden boy.” Unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and is now a rookie cop, much to the chagrin of his fiancee. Things become extra complicated when he’s asked to become part of a clandestine police investigation that the rest of the family knows nothing about — something that could impact the family’s legacy forever.

What do you think? Do you like the Blue Bloods TV show? Do you think it should be ending or renewed for a 17th season on CBS?
best police show ever produced. Bring back the series. And like
show as well.
The commissioner should wear five stars not four.
I particularly like the fact that the show seems to be free of the typical bias against the second amendment other shows (notably NYPD BLUE) almost always portrayed civilians who possessed firearms as polical fanatics criminals or mental defectives I find Blue Bloods approach fair and reasonable
Blue Bloods is great TV the occasional departures from the strict reality of day to day police work aside, the show consistently provides interesting and relevant story lines , great scriptwrighting and character development. Not since his breakout success in ” Midway” has Selleck had the opportunity to display such mastery of his art
best police show ever produced. Bring back the series.
Best Show on TV…we don’t need total reality to make a great TV show. We get that. It is great for the many other aspects that it offers such as family values, work ethic and being proud and grateful to live in the USA.
No matter how old he gets, Tom Selleck is still wonderful. HUGE FAN!!!
As a retired police detective, this show is not anywhere near as realistic as Law and Order or NYPD Blue. The detectives do very little investigation, and the concept that a single family makes the arrests, investigates and prosecutes the cases, and has oversight of the police department is ludicrous. Danny Reagan would end up getting suspended repeatedly, fired, or killed for the behavior he chooses to take with suspects; he makes up the story of what happened, then bullies suspects to admit guilt with no proof. He is about as deep as a puddle mentally, and needs therapy. Jamie… Read more »
Wow, so tell us what you really think. This is a better show than most.
Finally, a fair and reasonable assessment of the weaknesses of this show. I swear, this show has the most ridiculous bunch of groupies.
THE VERY BEST PROGRAM ON TELEVISION. WE HAVE BEEN TOM SELLECK FANS SINCE MAGNUM P.I. We hope you keep this show around for a long time. It has a great storyline and a wonderful sense of family value with a Christian background. We can’t wait until Friday each week to watch it! Thank you and PLEASE don’t cancel this one!
We love Blue Bloods and really want the sixth season. We live in Bella Vista Arkansas. We have Cox Cable TV and have some difficulty in locating the time and Station the series is played. Can you recommend a guide where this info can be ascertained? Thanks.
This is an excellent show. The episodes are well written. I chase it around the cable channels, WGN and any other that is running it. It is not focused on one character but balanced among all of them. There have been shows where I’ve laughed out loud and others where I have cried. I look forward to watching this show. It would be a shame to see it cancelled.

Blue Bloods has become my all time favorite TV show. I watch reruns every day. The Friday ten o’clock time slot is not a convenient time for me as a rule.
I’m very much looking forward to the renewal of this great show! The only thing I would change is for Jamie to become a detective!
I also want to see an episode wherein Commissioner Reagan presents an award to a certain detective sargent who has herself been a special victim!
My first fan mail! This show defies all ordinary TV standards, emphasizing excellent writing, sensitive acting by ALL, intricate plots that keep ones interest ( mine is very fussy! ) and always ignites interest and joy in its family standard.
I broke my ankle last year and was forced to REST?.a very impossible for a multi tasker like myself— but the Blue Bloods saved my life as well as my ankle!
There is eough depressing news on our once beautiful world without announcing the end of a fabulous show like this one!! Please say it isn’t so!!
