An NBC legal drama, the Bluff City Law TV series stars Jimmy Smits, Caitlin McGee, Scott Shepherd, Barry Sloane, Michael Luwoye, MaameYaa Boafo, Stony Blyden, and Jayne Atkinson. Coming from a famous Memphis family that’s known for taking on injustice, a brilliant lawyer named Sydney Strait (McGee) used to work at her father Elijah’s celebrated law firm until their tumultuous relationship got in the way. After barely speaking to Elijah (Smits) for years, Sydney is suddenly thrust back into the family fold when her philanthropist mother passes away unexpectedly. In the wake of the loss of his wife and in hopes of reconnecting with the daughter he loves, Elijah asks Sydney to rejoin his Civil Rights firm and take on a chemical company whose product may cause cancer. Despite her lingering resentment and distrust, she agrees because she knows that working alongside her father is her best hope at changing the world — as long as they can find a way to get along. No sooner has Sydney returned than she stumbles on a secret that Elijah has been keeping from her that may change everything.

One of the best shows on TV. Bluff City and Seal Team are the best shows on TV. Please bring it back. Jimmy Smitts was amazing. It was the right cast for this show. I have 4 shows on TV I watch, Bluff City, Seal Team, Surviver and Amazing Race. All the other is not worth watching. Bluff City come back.
Bluff City Law was the most relevant show to what the world is currently experiencing right now with covid in 2020. If the powers that be at NBC were smart they would immediately start season 2 from the beginning a virus similar Covid ( or a pandemic just like it ) … Covid exposed every weakness America has and people desperately need help understanding and facing the city to deal with it. Kept hoping that Bluff City Law would be renewed. What an excellent show! Just finished binge watching all ten great episodes and will probably purchase. What a shame that this one was let go. Timely subjects, purposely portrayed characters and great music and scenery to boot. Bummer.
I love Bluff City Law. NBC sure is making a bad choice by cancelling this show. We need more shows like this and less sitcoms and reruns! Maybe another station will pick up this wonderful show!
I Love Bluff City Law, when I finally found it! Why would NBC put it on monday night. LA Law was on Thursday nights! I Love the show and bringing Jimmy Smitts back was awesome. NBC should have trashed The Good doctor because that’s a stupid show; it doesnkt even compare to ER and Grey’s Anatomy. Please bring BACK Bluff City Law. I’m Very upset that it was cancelled. This is a show for adults not kids. Let us have some intellectual shows; not everything has to be stupid Reality shows and crap for teenagers. Remember the adults pay the… Read more »
Why is Bluff City cancelled? It was GREAT !!! Bring it Back.
Cancelling BCL felt like a slap in the face to its many fans. Thousands of us begging for season two. This series is legend in that it developed beautiful characters with a great back story on which current events were explored each episode. NBC goofed cancelling a very popular series played against an amazing southern jazz colorful scene! You lose NBC!!
I was happy to see Jimmy Smits back. This is a good show and glad to see they include a family story and not just the legal/business side of his job. Please renew this!
There have been so many shows cancelled, the Village is one, now it’s Bluff City. Wake up
