(ABC/Raymond Liu)
IMDb TV is not saving For Life or Rebel from the cancellation pool. After airing episodes from both shows on the streaming service, the decision was made to not renew either series for new seasons, per Deadline.
For Life aired for two seasons, and Rebel was cancelled by ABC just five episodes into its first season. The network aired the remaining episodes of the latter show.
For Life is based on the life of Isaac Wright Jr., and Rebel was loosely based on the life of Erin Brockovich. Fans of both shows were hoping for the dramas to be picked up by IMDb TV, but that will not happen.
From Krista Vernoff, the creator of Rebel:
THANK YOU to the fans behind the #SaveRebel campaign. Your passion was incredible. We have learned there won't be a Season 2, but we truly hope Rebel & the extraordinary @ErinBrockovich will continue to inspire you to fight the good fight in your communities and in your lives.

What do you think? Were you hoping for new episodes of For Life and Rebel on IMDb TV?
For Life and Rebel should have both been renewed — they are so worthwhile & informative!
Rebel really should have been saved. Great show.
ABC may as well call it a day. One bad decision after another. All you do is cancel great dramas that those of us older folks enjoy watching. We may not fall into your so called age demographic but we STILL matter. We enjoy sitting down to interesting shows with interesting stories to share. Most of the younger demographics are watching streaming stations ( that we btw cannot afford to pay for ) rather than broadcast tv programs. I am so tired of dumb so called reality shows that only encourage promiscuous sexual bad behaviors and stupid choices. Time for… Read more »
A really bad decision, rebel was a good show ,all the characters terrific !
Bad call by IMDB, in my Most Unholy opinion. They claim they want to increase their audience, but their app is laughingly limited in the number of devices you can play it on, so that already limits their ability to find viewers. Not everybody wants a Bezos-dependent streaming platform. They do have some older shows there that can’t be found on other streaming services (Fringe, being a great example) but if they added some new content to their platforms – much like Netflix, Amazon, and Peacock have – that would be a great way to bring in viewers. Also, don’t… Read more »
IMDb TV stopped streaming For Life (S1&2) over a month ago, so clearly they weren’t interested.
We’ll see how long they leave Rebel S1 up for streaming, now that it’s officially not being picked up by them.
I can’t believe that these 2 show were canceled. They were great programs. There is so much junk on tv and you go and take 2 good shows off the air? It’s soooooo wrong.
Very disappointed the For Life was t renewed. Thought it was an excellent show, liked the actors, liked the storyline. Possibly the writers couldn’t come up with anymore stories. Very disappointed!
It’s a Business, ratings + cost of production = stay or go…
Absolutely ridiculous!!! Why do they keep all the CRAP shows and cancel the good ones. Rebel and For Life were 2 shows that I looked forward to watching every week. Excellent excellent shows!! I’m getting so fed up with all these Reality shows while canceling the good one. C’mon TV execs, do your homework and get these shows back on the air.
I agree, my Son & I used to look forward to this show.. only show we sat down together to watch!
BIG MISTAKE as BOTH shows were excellent shows. OH WAIT thats right I’m a senior citizen so my opinion doesn’t matter because I’m not in you 19-49 year old demographics. It’s REDICULOUS canceling such good shows.
C’mon SOMEONE step up to the plate and renew For Life! I really enjoyed the show and want to watch Season 3…….
So sad for Rebel. They seem to keep crappy shows and reality shows (which aren’t really reality) over a great show, interesting show, like Rebel. Really unhappy that it won’t be picked up. I was so hopeful!
So angry Rebel isn’t coming back
Sad
I love them both
My husband loved For Life. Hope they reconsider bringing it back.
