ABC doesn’t typically announce if General Hospital has been renewed for another year, but we know the show wasn’t cancelled either. The venerable soap has been on the air for over 60 years and is the alphabet network’s sole surviving daytime drama. Will General Hospital survive to see the 2024-25 network TV season? Could ABC announce a renewal this time around, or could it be dropped? Stay tuned.
Debuting in 1963 on April 1st, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. Actors appearing in the current season include Tabyana Ali, Tajh Bellow, Maurice Benard, Nicholas Chavez, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Jane Elliot, Genie Francis, Robert Gossett, Nancy Lee Grahn, Tanisha Harper, Gregory Harrison, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, Josh Kelly, Brook Kerr, Katelyn MacMullen, Kate Mansi, Cameron Mathison, Sofia Mattsson, Eden McCoy, Kelly Monaco, Avery Kristen Pohl, Amanda Setton, Kirsten Storms, Josh Swickard, Donnell Turner, Kristina Wagner, Cynthia Watros, Maura West, Laura Wright, and Dominic Zamprogna.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The 2022-23 season of General Hospital averaged a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 2.07 million total viewers.

It’s by far the best daytime show on TV. There’s always a new twist and turn and it’s never boring. Please leave it on. We don’t really like those idiot game shows.
I think it should end getting rid of great characters is wrong don’t like the way the story lines are going. It’s jumped ship.
General Hospital has always been an escape into the fictional world. For one hour a day, I didn’t have to think about how our real world is crumbling and getting more and more hateful and dangerous…….
GH is now just another woke propaganda show that is tying reality in where it doesn’t belong. It sucks. I’ve watched GH since the beginning, back when they were only 30 minute episodes.
I love General Hospital ,want to continue seeing it for years to come ! The ratings should be higher ,it’s a great soap .

Been watching since April 1st 1963.
The current story lines are very uninteresting. The only couples with chemistry were Anna and Valentin and Trina and Spencer. Not sure why Nik C. Did not renew his contract; but I think maybe the powers at be should rethink their position. I personally no longer watch GH and I am looking forward to the new CBS show. I don’t care if GH is canceled. I have been a fan for 30-years.

Yes it should be cancelled. Getting rid of Roger Howarth and Nicholas Chavez was a big mistake. The sonny Carly Jason show is so boring. Chase and gf are a snoozefest. Tptb hired bland talentless Black actors because they knew they were just to fill a quota. Firing Shannon Peace only poc writer, even though Sprina was great. Started watching in the 80s, I’m done.
Nicholas Chavez made the decision not to return. He’s a rising star. Roger Howarth and Gh couldn’t come to an agreement on money, so he left.
Both, their decision.
So what if Steve is back on GH. I don’t watch GH. Young and Restless will continue to beat GH in the ratings
ABC needs to cancel GH. Even new writers are not going to help this show. Get rid of Maurice, Genie and a few others. Honestly, PC is not the same city as it once was and new writers won’;t change the acting with the actors they have. You need to clean the set and start over again with new faces and up to date dialouge. I miss geary and some others. genie may want to keep luke dead but we wish she would have been with hime..
I love General Hospital. I DVR it so I don’t miss an episode.
If GH wants to stop the falling ratings, they will end this failed Tricky Dick Nixon Falls storyline, get rid of Parasite Nina and let Sonny Corinthos be himself again. And also bring Jason Morgan home in time for the traditional Thanksgiving pizza with his family.
We all know he’s wasting time over in Salem, playing the same character under a different name, but not getting any real storylines.
