ABC doesn’t typically announce if General Hospital has been renewed for another year, but we know the show wasn’t cancelled either. The venerable soap has been on the air for over 60 years and is the alphabet network’s sole surviving daytime drama. Will General Hospital survive to see the 2024-25 network TV season? Could ABC announce a renewal this time around, or could it be dropped? Stay tuned.
Debuting in 1963 on April 1st, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. Actors appearing in the current season include Tabyana Ali, Tajh Bellow, Maurice Benard, Nicholas Chavez, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Jane Elliot, Genie Francis, Robert Gossett, Nancy Lee Grahn, Tanisha Harper, Gregory Harrison, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, Josh Kelly, Brook Kerr, Katelyn MacMullen, Kate Mansi, Cameron Mathison, Sofia Mattsson, Eden McCoy, Kelly Monaco, Avery Kristen Pohl, Amanda Setton, Kirsten Storms, Josh Swickard, Donnell Turner, Kristina Wagner, Cynthia Watros, Maura West, Laura Wright, and Dominic Zamprogna.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The 2022-23 season of General Hospital averaged a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 2.07 million total viewers.

These writers have literally destroyed the show for me with the pairings of Drew and Willow and now Jason and Anna? Are they nuts? And don’t even get me started on all of the firings of dedicated actors and actresses they keep doing. Huge mistakes!!!;! Soon ABC won’t have any soaps, but maybe that’s what they are trying to accomplish. But doing things this way is a sure fire way of doing it. And not in a good way, either .
I am convinced they are doing it on purpose so viewers leave and they can cancel the show due to worse ratings. I wish I could have stayed, but hearing KM was out and Sam was to be killed did it for me – I am gone.
