Looks like CBS is unfriending God Friended Me. CBS just announced they’ve cancelled the TV show after two seasons, Deadline reports.
The series revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God.” The cast also includes Violett Beane, Joe Morton, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, and Erica Gimpel, with Adam Goldberg and Jessica Lu recurring.
The second season of God Friended Me is averaging a 0.67 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.24 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 25% in the demo by down by 20% in viewership. That’s quite a dip in the ratings for the CBS TV show
What do you think? Do you watch God Friended Me? Would you have watched season three?
I enjoyed the show and would have watched a 3rd season. I’ll miss its positive message in a world aching for human connection.
It always seems that when we get a great show about Jesus, king of kings gets cancelled. Ppl love this show and would like to see more of them. Pls keep God Friended Me
My wife and I totally enjoyed this show from day one. It is so disappointing to lose a quality show with an uplifting message. The writing and storylines kept getting more and more interesting. And the lead characters were genuine. I don’t understand why there was a drop-off in followers from season one. Sad.
God friended me based on 18-49 year olds stats , it’s a shame. Good wholesome shows with spiritual notes don’t stand a chance. Unfortunately garbage like Living Dead thrives.
This is where our country has gone and TV programming
responds, leaving nothing for nice people to get into and feel good about.
I would watch it
If CBS once again, cancelled a compelling story line, such as, God Friended Me, they have made that BIG MISTAKE once before, Star Trek for example…..we’ll they never learn!
Yes. I love the show. The show gives me focus on religion. Love each week Miles helps someone find their desires. Please keep the show.
One of the few “feel good” shows on television. It says something about our society that these types of shows don’t last.
Yes I love this show. Great acting and very wholesome show which has become a minority it seems.
Yes, I definitely would’ve watched Season 3!
I loved the show. A little hokey at times but very charming. Interesting to see the dynamics in the Episcopal Church on TV.
I loved watching this show every week . Disappointed that it is not coming back for season 3 . It is a great inspiring, uplifting show . Sad that it isn’t coming back .
I loved this show and going to miss it.
They should not have cancelled this show…. I loved it. And there was still a lot of viewers. Please bring it back or have another station pick it up.
I wish this hadn’t been canceled. I really loved this show. It shows that there are still good people out there willing to help others no matter what. And it shows that God does work miracles.
