TV show description:
A drama series set in New York City, God Friended Me revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles Finer (Hall). Miles is an atheist and that puts him at odds with his father, Reverend Arthur Finer (Morton), a beloved and longtime preacher at Harlem’s Trinity Church.
Miles’ life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God”. He ignores and declines the request but it keeps coming back so, out of curiosity, he accepts and the mystery deepens as he digs deeper into his new friend’s account.
He’s led to Cara Bloom (Beane), an online journalist who’s been struggling with writer’s block. Intrigued by Miles’ story, Cara joins him in investigating friend suggestions from “God” and they end up helping others in need — while learning things about themselves.
Miles and Cara are aided by Ali Finer (Leslie), Miles’ supportive sister. She’s a doctoral psych student by day and a bartender by night. Also lending a hand is Rakesh Singh (Sharma), Miles’ best friend and a sometimes hacker who needs some help on the social side of his life.
Miles is convinced that the “God” account is an elaborate hoax and is devoted to uncovering the truth. In the meantime, he’s playing along and, in the process, seeing his life changed forever.
Episode #42 — The Mountain
Miles is forced to examine his lack of faith more than ever before when the God Account sends him his sister, Ali, as a friend suggestion on the eve of her cancer surgery.
First aired: April 26, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the God Friended Me TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season on CBS?
I thought the show was outstanding. Left you feeling good and wanting to see the next episode. Props to the writers – very creative, especially from the standpoint of how problems were worked out and resolved. BRING IT BACK!
I loved God friended me. It was a show that people knew there was someone out there to help. There was no shootings killings and it made me feel good to watch it.
I loved this show. I did not really expect to like it when it started because I thought it was going to be the pushy religious type, but it won me over on the second show. I loved it and did not miss a time it was on. I got to believe in the fact that there could be a God from watching this show. It was one that really made you think and believe. It made me feel better about myself.
God Friended Me was a show of great quality…uplifting real life situation stories with valuable life lessons for viewers, feel good endings, much needed positivity for our times, great actors and acting. I am extremely disappointed in CBS and sad that it had been Cancelled. Please show some class and character CBS and bring it back.
My friends and I are very disappointed that this show was cancelled. This show is one of the only, if not the only feel good, good clean, well written and acted show. Most episodes are relatable or something that could happen in real life. We always looked forward to Sunday evenings at 8. Please reconsider and reinstate this show.
This was a great show. I hope you bring it back soon.
I loved the show, always looking forward to watching the show. Very disappointed that the show was cancelled.
My wife and I are really disappointed. This was a thoughtful feel good series. The characters and their interactions were great, and having a low key lesbian couple, the daughter of an Episcopal priest no less, was a great move forward. This was one of a handful of shows which we walked regularly.
Very disappointed this show was cancelled. Not much on TV is worth watching, but this show was. Cancelling makes my watch list a whole lot smaller.
I absolutely loved God Friended Me and was so disappointed that it was canceled. It was a great show, please bring it back.
We loved God Friended Me…finally an inspirational, no violence, no sex, no bad words that the whole family can enjoy. Please don’t cancel!
Please continue God Friended Me, even as a special or a mini movie. I feel so unresolved regarding the odd ending. Also everything went SO FAST at the end, about the characters lives and relationships! They were all summed up in a FAST minute or two?! This was just crazy, and very unsatisfying! And what did the ending mean with Miles on the mountain, and some religious figure, beckoning him to come and see ‘her’? I think that’s what I heard? PLEASE do something to satisfy all of us MANY LOYAL FANS, your ‘new friend suggestions’!
So surprised and disappointed that The God Account was cancelled. It was a wonderful series without the usual sex and blood and guts. Please bring it back!
I really enjoyed the show was family oriented and it gave you a real look at other people who could help you even if you didn’t believe what they believed and it gave me something positive to look forward to on Sunday nights that I could call my dad when it was over to discuss. And it was very wholesome I think there are alot of other terrible shows with no substance on and this one was a class act. I hope another network picks it up. I guess I will be reading on Sunday evenings and getting ready for… Read more »
My husband and I were shocked to see God Friended Me is cancelled. It’s the only uplifting show on tv. We surely wish there was a way this decision could be reversed.
