What’s next for The Good Wife? Series creators Robert and Michelle King recently discussed the end of their acclaimed CBS TV show in an interview with TVLine.
Yesterday, we reported that The Good Wife has been cancelled and its current season will be its last.
Speaking to TVLine, the Kings said fans expecting Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) or Will (Josh Charles) to return will be disappointed:
No, that’s not our expectation. Kalinda went off deliberately to disappear — and we’re honoring that choice. It wouldn’t make sense for [Kalinda] to come back. … Alas, Will Gardner’s dead — which is sort of problematic.”
Instead, the showrunners said the series finale will be surprising and bittersweet:
I like when the ending is surprising and inevitable at the same time. … I like [finales] that end with some resonance — Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under. Finales that are happy and sad at the same time.”
The May 8th finale of The Good Wife may not be the end for all the characters, however. Yesterday, we reported that the Kings are considering a potential spin-off series.
What do you think? What do you want to happen in the series finale of The Good Wife?
Good wife needs to leave her spouse, have an affair with her investigator and do a spin off show similar to former show Boston Legal.
I would like to see Finn Palmer (Matthew Goode) come back, this time with his heart free to commit to Alicia. She also, after experiencing a steamy affair with Jason, would be ready.
