Pay-for-view channel Starz has announced that Gravity won’t be back for a second year. The show completed its run last week after just 10 episodes.
Gravity is a dramatic comedy that follows a group from an eccentric out-patient program for suicide survivors. Co-created by Eric Schaeffer and Jill Franklyn, the cast includes Schaeffer, Ivan Sergei, James Martinez, Krysten Ritter, Rachel Hunter, Robyn Cohen, Seth Numrich, and Ving Rhames.
Starz had high hopes for the series but it just never caught on. The season (now series) finale attracted an invisible 0.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just 54,000 viewers. To no surprise, Starz has admitted that neither Gravity nor Party Down will be returning for another round.
In a statement, Stephan Shelanski, Starz’ executive VP of programming, said, “After careful consideration, we’ve decided not to continue on with subsequent seasons of Party Down and Gravity. We’re grateful to everyone involved in the shows, and are proud to have had them on the channel. Starz remains committed to aggressively expanding our original programming lineup.”
What do you think? Did you watch Gravity? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

We loved the quirky but deep plot lines. Great acting hope to see them again soon
Why did t they at least do one more episode the ending left us not knowing who was shot and the whole story left up in the air
The first season finale had such a dynamic cliff hanging ending that not being able to see some sort of conclusion was terribly unfair. At least one more episode to close the shows personalities and relationships. Come on Starz…it won’t break the bank to give the series a proper conclusion.
Gravity was overlooked because Starz in general just sucks. How many period pieces about Queens do you need? How many less than B Horror films do you need. Gravity was delightful, yet it dealt with human pain, and tragedy with respect. Starz, what a stupid mistake you’ve made, canceling Gravity.
Loved it! Definitely would have watched multiple seasons
Too bad. It was eccentric with twists of dark humour yet enlightenment in the dark corners.
I guess it should have aired during a pandemic back in 2010.
I loved the show, it was dark, and funny and rich. Totally sad that it was cancelled…it gave me a reason to keep my subscripton….
How disappointed I am to hear this just finished first season and what an ending and now we don’t know what happens dang it !!!!!
I loved the show!
Wish I knew that before binge watching
I loved it!!!
Just stumbled across “GRAVITY”, binge watched the entire season tonight. It was EXCELLENT! Horrible news to find out that Starz has canceled it after one very short season, ending on a cliffhanger no less! Had I realized they were going to end it that way I never would have watched it to begin with, I hate to be left hanging!… Not sure why it didn’t catch on, not enough publicity? It surely deserved at least one more season! Starz should, at the very least, give us a 1-2 hour special to tie up loose ends.
Please?!?
Totally agree!
I’m extremely disappointed! an amazing show that would have definitely been one of my tops if it was to be finished. left off on a huge cliffhanger as well. I think it didn’t catch on bc it wasn’t promoted enough. I think it would have been a hit for sure.
Why is it that all the good shows never get renew.. There is more story to tell here..so enjoy this show compared to all the other so uninteresting shows out there. Wrong more in not renewing this show.
I just watched all of Season 1 and thoroughly enjoyed. I’m very disappointed that that was the end of this show. 🙁
