What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the Showtime cable channel, the Kidding TV series stars Jim Carrey, Frank Langella, Catherine Keener, Judy Greer, Cole Allen, Juliet Morris, and Justin Kirk. The show follows a beloved children’s television host named Jeff Piccirillo aka Jeff Pickles (Carrey). Following the death of one of his sons, he finds great difficulty in adapting to the hardships of life and ends up spiraling into insanity. Season two picks up with Mr. Pickles’ Puppet Time off the air for the first time in 30 years and Jeff must find a way to communicate with his many fans who still need him. Jeff creates a new and controversial method to talk directly to children across the world only to become the target of animosity for the first time in his career. As Jeff navigates the most complicated moral gray areas of his life, he discovers a new side of himself in a season full of music, magic, puppets, and pathos.
Season Two Ratings

Telly’s Take
Will Showtime cancel or renew Kidding for season three? The ratings were quite low in the first season and they’re very low in season two. However, Showtime’s not worried about advertisers or “live” viewing — they just have to please their subscribers. Last year, both Carrey and the show were nominated for Golden Globe Awards. My gut tells me that Kidding will most likely be cancelled but, if Carrey wants to keep making it, there will be a third year. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. Been interested for a long time but I don’t have showtime. Then Amazon included Season 1 for Prime members for all of March and we finally gave it a shot. My wife and I were instantly hooked! Carrey is amazing and the rest of the cast is fantastic. Love Gondry’s work as well. This show has soo much going on, it’s never a dull moment. We loved it so much we’re signing up for Showtime this month just to watch Season 2! I already know I would stay with Showtime if they did a 3rd season.
Checked it out on a lark and was instantly hooked. Funny, sad, profound and quirky! Interesting characters abound, and with the twisting plotlines, it was something to behold. Hopefully Mr. Pickle’s story will continue into a next season. Unfortunately, there are so many premium channels and alternative programming, it’s difficult to have shows get into the spotlight, unless they are pumped up by$$$.
Renew immediately! Jim Carrey is wonderful as Mr Pickles. The entire cast deserves to go on!
Jim Carrey is brilliant in this show… He always impressed me of how many characters he displays. He is a perfect fit. Please Mr. Carrey try to convince the studio to bring Us a season 3
We starting Binge watching “Kidding” after Whoopi mentioned it on The View. Loved it! Nothing else like it! Just finished season 2. PLEASE TELL US YOU’RE PLANNING ON A SEASON 3!!!

This show is another Jim Carey masterpiece. I want more!
Thing is, the loop looped at the end of season 2.
If it ended after 2 seasons, I’d be alright with it.
I love series and I love Jim Carrey, but I am not craving for more because I am satisfied with how it ended so far.

I love this show SO MUCH! In my priorities lists on Dish, Catherine Keener and Kidding are number 1 😉 I would like to see Seb come back from his stroke – not necessarily Jeff & Deidra’s mom though. An episode where somebody finally fixes that messed up stop light would be nice. I hope they never cancel. I know nothing great lasts forever, but I’ll still hope.
I think the ratings might be skewed. I’ve seen every episode of Kidding since it began but I don’t watch at the original airtimes. A lot of people probably do that and may not be counted in the viewership.
Also, I had no idea that the second season was even out until I accidentally happened across it.
I think the last episode did tie things up nicely but I’d still love for the show to continue.
This show is a masterpiece!

I absolutely love the show and would be heartbroken if they didn’t bring it back for season three I thought season 2 was way to short honestly I’d like two hour episodes! Jim Carrey is just amazing!! I think it’s his best role yet and I NEED MORE!
Yes, I hope it will be renewed. I love the show! I just don’t think it’s advertised very well. Very little people are aware of its existence
