Yesterday, we reported that Legend of the Seeker there were strong rumors that the TV show had been cancelled after two seasons on the air. ABC Studios, which produces the program, hasn’t made an official announcement. However, two of the show’s most vocal supporters have.
Actress Bridget Reagan (Confessor Kahlan) wrote, via Twitter, “Got some sad news that Seeker is no more. So sad to say goodbye to my NZ family but excited for what’s next.”
Via his own Twitter account, producer Mike Sussman wrote, “The quest is complete. Thank you so much to our amazing cast, crew & all our fans, it’s been an awesome two years. We will miss you all.”
What do you think? Was Legend of the Seeker worth watching? Why do you think the show’s ratings were on the decline?

The books were not at all the same as the show, but the show was still AWESOME and doesn’t deserve to be cancelled. Why is everything good cancelled and shows like Gossip Girl stay on TV…. Maybe people should actually ask viewers once in a while…
All the networks are puting too many reality shows and geting rid of all the best series. I do not think they really know what people like. If they are trying to save money maybe they should get rid of some of the top managers. I am sure they get paid too much money.
The show could not follow the books closely enough for me, it would have only done justice to the books if it was on something like Starz or some other movie channel. They did a terrible job of portraying most of the characters and story lines were all over the place, if you were to read the books beforehand you would have gone nuts over the differences midway through this season and stopped watching, the good news is that I think Terry Goodkind was upset enough with the show that he decided to write another trilogy on the characters, all… Read more »
please save the show… it’s an awesome show… perfect for everyone!
i super love this show… i can’t even wait for the season 2 finale. i didn’t think it’s going to be the series finale 🙁 PLEASE DON’T CANCEL!
Yes, cancelling a great show is a disappointment but also reading a post about how a fan doesn’t want her children to be exposed to two women kissing yet she’ll allow them to watch the violence and heterosexuality that this show contains without complaint. To me that is the much bigger disappointment. Thank you for reminding me this world is still full of ignorance.
I am so disappointed to hear that Legend is being cancelled. I enjoy the show so much, and have been recommending it to friends. I love the characters and the story..I haven’t read the books so I don’t know how different it is. I hope the decision to cancel might be reconsidered!
My daughter and I are bitterly disappointed that the show is being cancelled. We read the series over the summer together, and watching Seeker every Saturday was our “thing”. The only comfort is, Terry Goodkind, the series author, will be coming out with a new “Richard and Kahlan” novel in early 2011. I also recommend his novel “Law of Nines”, which features the Amnell/Rahl offspring, several generations later.
Wish is wasn’t being cancelled.
Unfortunately they gave it a crappy time slot on a crappy network, and wasn’t even broadcast in HD!
It stood out amongst all the other copycat shows currently on the air.
They should have followed the book story line. Longer run more profits. The books are what drew its viewer base. To much creative license.
I’ve been reading some of the posts and there are several references that the show is staying from the book. I haven’t read the book but I do know in alot of cases a show and a book seldom are the same. Think about it for a minute, if the show followed the book then you would know everything that happened and would be completely bored with the show. This way, you rarely know what will happen! Besides, I really wish they’d reconsider and bring it back. There is nothing on the air right now that even compares to it.
I really love this show and I always take the time to watch. The music is great! Joe LoDuca is a long time friend and colleaugue. I know that he has worked hard to make it a musical success. The only thing that I found offensive with the show is a scene in last week’s episode when the blonde haired actress ( mort sif ) had a scene where she kissed another woman in an erotic way. There was know need for that and it added nothing to the show. The producers should be very careful as to what message… Read more »
I can’t believe that legend of the seeker is being cancelled. I am sure that abc is to blame because this isn’t the first amazing show abc has cancelled to add more schedueling room for purely romantic shows with little to no substance. I am so sad that 2 shows i religiously watch, Ugly Betty and Legend of the Seeker, are being cancelled in 1 year. After seeing two episodes of LotS, i spent a whole weekend watching season 1 and 2. I am sad that there will oly be two seasons and hope that there will be an Ugly… Read more »
this is the best show ever. i watch it EVERY saturday. i don’t miss a single episode. i read the first book. it’s different than the show, but the show is worth watching. me and my friend is CRAZY for this show. this show attracts kids too. i’m 13 by the way. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW! >:'(
I feel that the ratings for the show declined significantly because of the change in the time slot from saturday 8:00pm to sunday 11:00pm on the cw network. Even thought it is on saturday, it is only showed on wgname and most people i am guessing dont have this channel and will have to upgrade their current dish package to get it.
i agree completely with Aaron although i didnt read the books untill after i’d watched the first season i found that the series does stray way to far from the source. look at kahlan and richards relationship for a perfect example.
