Looks like Lucifer Morningstar isn’t quite a lucky devil any longer. His show’s ratings have fallen year after year and so, FOX has cancelled its Lucifer TV show. Sadly, fans of the supernatural crime drama won’t be seeing a fourth season this fall.
A FOX comedy-drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases.
Lucifer: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Lucifer is averaging a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. While those declines aren’t huge, the series has seen dips in its ratings each season and the series could easily have been cancelled before. Apparently, the ratings dipped just a bit too low.
Out of the scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking, Lucifer ranks 13th in terms of its demo performance and rises to 10th place in terms of average total audience size.
Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson broke the bad news this afternoon.
So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe.

The defacto series finale airs Monday, May 14th.

The third season was just really badly written. Too long, too boring, disjointed, no character development. It’s no surprise ratings fell so much. The messy finale is a depressingly good fit. I’ll just try to forget I watched it and will read some fanfiction instead. There a few authors out there who are quite good and have, apparently, a better clue what the show is really about than the actual makers. This is the only show for a long time that I have even watched on t.v. All the other stuff is just junk or cartoonish. This is old fashion what fate can have in store for you! The what if’s we all think about in your life. If I took this path what would it be.. or this path and can I change who I am. Yes. It is positive and has an very unusual way of showing you the choices in life. I only watch fox for just this if it goes to another channel like Syfy.
You need to reconsider this. Lucifer is one of the best shows on tv . I Wanna season 4
This is so SAD! I love Lucifer, these characters are so fun to watch. Yes, this show has been so much FUN to watch…not mindless junk. I hope Fox reconsiders or it would be great if someone else picked them up.
This is really mess up… Cut the goood shows and leave the bull crap ones… I look forward to this show and yall took.it off.. 8 havent watched fox like that since married with children and this time im not coming back smh
Bring Lucifer back for another season. What’s wrong with FOX? This is a great show and we want it to continue. Look at some of the other shows that should be cancelled NOT Lucifer. Bring it back please.
Ridiculous. This is one of the best shows out. Fox should really reconsider. If not, then FOX sucks. To good of a show to cancel. A big let down to us all.
This TV series is so great I can’t believe that there are cancelling this show. The characters are amazing especially Lucifer. Season 3 ended with a cliffhanger it needs to continue at least end the show properly.
Lucifer has only recently become available on Netflix in South Africa and currently only up to Season 2, which I devoured. How can Fox make the decision to cancel when some countries haven’t even aired Season 3 yet?! Such a huge disappointment.
They should definitely bring it back!! It’s the screenplay and directing that needs to go..bring more action into Lucifer and less emotional drama. It started strong and became weak.
I am devastated!! This one of 2 network shows I watch!! I love the characters. Maybe I only watch it on DVR, but I am watching!! Also with 2 other folks. What can I do to help the FOX executives realize they are making a mistake? Please at least give them a few shows to end properly. That is just not fair, to abruptly stop!
“What do you REALLY desire?” I desire that you to bring Lucifer back for another season damn it!!! This is a great show…I don’t care which network picks it up…it was starting to get good and what do you do? You leave us hanging!!! Shame on you FOX you sick, demented network executives! How do you sleep at night? How do you go home knowing that you have caused strife in the homes of millions of viewers of fine programing such as Lucifer? It’s disgusting and you make me SICK!!!

Please please please… don’t cancel Lucifer. I loved all the characters in the show and I looked forward to watching this show every Monday night on Fox. I usually don’t watch anything but Public TV but Lucifer was a exception. Please bring this back.
Too bad! I have watched this show during every new episode, and over and over on Hulu. Great actors, funny scripts…..I truly hate to see it go. Tom Ellis, I will be watching for you in another series. I most enjoyed watching you play Gary in Miranda, besides Lucifer. Good luck!
