Looks like Lucifer Morningstar isn’t quite a lucky devil any longer. His show’s ratings have fallen year after year and so, FOX has cancelled its Lucifer TV show. Sadly, fans of the supernatural crime drama won’t be seeing a fourth season this fall.
A FOX comedy-drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases.
Lucifer: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Lucifer is averaging a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. While those declines aren’t huge, the series has seen dips in its ratings each season and the series could easily have been cancelled before. Apparently, the ratings dipped just a bit too low.
Out of the scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking, Lucifer ranks 13th in terms of its demo performance and rises to 10th place in terms of average total audience size.
Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson broke the bad news this afternoon.
So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe.

The defacto series finale airs Monday, May 14th.

FOX sucks, why cancel this show. This is the best show ever, FOX sucks…. FOX doesn’t know the difference between good shows and bad ones. Maybe we showed just stop watching fox overall.

Whoever cancelled Lucifer is a moran. Everyone I know loves this show. Why do only the good shows get cancelled??? Idiots.

Not fair..a well written, beautifully acted, superlative cast and an awesome story…the only grand show on Fox..a nasty trick.

Oh yeah another thing I saw was for Brooklyn Nine-nine, WTH again a favorite show of ours cancelled. I guess I’m glad another network picked it up! Not to mention Last Man Standing! Sucks!!

It’s me again, reading some of the other comments I’m not the only one that’s upset over the cancellation of Lucifer! And now your going to leave us hanging now that Chloe knows what Lucifer is! Like everyone else says put it on at a different time or day! Please bring Lucifer back, why do all the shows we love get cancelled? Team LUCIFER
I’ve been watching Lucifer from the very beginning and now I find out that it’s being cancelled, well that blows! I looked forward to Monday nights just for Lucifer! Now what am I going to watch? Hopefully not another reality show because they all suck! Thanks a lot Fox!
Just saw that Lucifer is being cancelled, well I think that stinks big time! Again a favorite show of ours gone! Why, I ask why do you have to cancel a funny, witty, exciting, clever show like this one? There’s probably nothing I can say that’ll bring it back, but I want you to know it sucks! Not too many other shows I like that are on Fox that I enjoy. Please reconsider!
