What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases. Now with his mother (Helfer) taken care of, in season three, Lucifer wants to figure out who kidnapped him and why his angel wings have returned. He also has to deal with a new rival for Chloe’s attention, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Welling), who, unlike Lucifer, is strategic, reserved, and well-respected.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Lucifer averaged a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. Find out how Lucifer stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.
Lucifer was cancelled by FOX, but was later picked up for season four by Netflix. Season four debuts May 8, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with okay numbers, the ratings for Lucifer are even lower than last year’s (and those weren’t very good). I suspect it will be back for a fourth season but it could easily be cancelled due to the low ratings. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. If Lucifer is going to HE__, Can the viewers be allowed to watch reruns?????
One reason that ratings might appear to be down for season 3 is that Spectrum customers lost that channel due to an ongoing contract conflict with the company that owned the rights to local channels. We had to get Hulu just to keep up with Lucifer. There are a lot of Spectrum customers that probably feel the same way! Keep Lucifer going please!!

Stupid fox taking away one of the most entertaining shows ever.
One of the most entertaining shows out there!!! Can’t believe they canceled season 4. They save the stupid shows and cancel the really good ones. Granted, the whole cop-murder-a-week formula was dull but the story between the main actors was awesome! The loyal viewers are now left completely frustrated because we wanted to see how the relationship between Chloe and Lucifer would develop now that she knows who he is! You MUST renew this show! We need closure!!
Please SAVE LUCIFER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love this show and it should continue into season 4 because just because now that Chloe knows the truth about him the seasons shouldn’t stop because Chloe and Lucifer can do so much more now as a couple and also as a team. It won’t be the same if it ends and most of the other shows are boring and my Fiancée and I really loved to watch it every week it was on and now we are so bored and are upset that Fox wants to cancel season 4. The only things left on TV to watch are sports and fake news
the show was killed by bad writing and a very bad calculation/exploitation mentality by the writers: they thought that if they draaag the third season enough to get an ending with a cliffhanger, the network would not be able to cancel. This very questionable calculation was made at the expense of the audience and it has backfired – again, at the expense of the audience who expected a resolution in the end. I blame the writing team. They’re responsible and have mistreated the series and the audience beyond repair.
Pick up Lucifer, there’s so much ****** tv programs with multiple seasons example netflix has many of those!!!! Why not continue good show?? Lucifer is best tv show at long time if you don’t think Game of thrones but that one is in it’s own life and there is nothing to compare it. But ****** shows there is many, marvel or dc movie tv shows, I’m so bored with those and plenty of those are awful…

Loved the show but cancellation is perfect decision. Quality was beginning to slide and be erratic. The two extra shows demonstrate season 4 would have been terrible quality.
The cliffhanger was a perfect place for fans to make up their own simple decision as to what happened next. Either way it would not be the same show afterward and would leave few plot possibilities where the ordinary mixes with a just touch of the supernatural.
Any case time for a new show. Maybe Lucifer and Chloe’s daughter joins Doctors Abroad in a African war zone in 2043.

I only started watching because Tom Welling joined the show. As a Christian, I was a little worried it might be something I didn’t want to watch, but it has pleasantly surprised me with its humour and alternate take on Lucifer. It doesn’t offend me at all. The only thing someone who works and has limited time to enjoy TV, I rely on recording it to watch later. I don’t think they know how to keep track of ratings like that. Shows ratings tend to go down in the late spring/ early summer due to people travel more. I believe “Lucifer” can find a home. I hope it does we were weekly viewers , and to finally have Chloe see Lucifer for who he is we have been waiting for 3 seasons for that to happen. Yeah but where does the show go after the big revelation? All the sex tension the show is built on is gone one way or another. As are all the reasons to stay mundane around the main characters. Plus quality was beginning to suck due to these issues. I suppose episodes can be angel guest star of the week but that has severe limits for building a season… unless you go all Touched by An Angel (while watched by Lucifer).
