What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases. Now with his mother (Helfer) taken care of, in season three, Lucifer wants to figure out who kidnapped him and why his angel wings have returned. He also has to deal with a new rival for Chloe’s attention, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Welling), who, unlike Lucifer, is strategic, reserved, and well-respected.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Lucifer averaged a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. Find out how Lucifer stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.
Lucifer was cancelled by FOX, but was later picked up for season four by Netflix. Season four debuts May 8, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with okay numbers, the ratings for Lucifer are even lower than last year’s (and those weren’t very good). I suspect it will be back for a fourth season but it could easily be cancelled due to the low ratings. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. I love this show “demographic” is wrong I am over 60 and watch this show religiouly pun intended ! So does my hubby 70 my sisters 60 and 59 years old and most of our family and friends who are over 50 We might not make lots of noise but we do love this show and WE SHOULD COUNT
I want Tom Ellis to reboot his British show Miranda. I love Miranda! He will always be Gary Preston to me.

I’m currently only midway in Season 2 and I can see the series losing steam already. From my vantage point it seems like Season 3 could easily mark a good terminal point in the series, perhaps adding an additional season (or two at most) if some particularly intriguing storyline is developed. That being said, I don’t think the numbers are bad enough for FOX to cancel something that has been in production for at least 5 years already, the show certainly has some potential remaining to be capitalized on.
I seriously hope there’s a 4th my family and I haven’t stopped watching, legit boned the whole series in 3 days! I need to know what’s happening please oh please

I love the show. It is racy but not too racy for me and I am pretty old. I really love it and look forward to Monday nights to watch it.
