What’s This TV Show About?
A CBS political thriller, Madam Secretary stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, Sara Ramirez, Željko Ivanek, Keith Carradine, Sebastian Arcelus, Patina Miller, Geoffrey Arend, Erich Bergen, Kathrine Herzer, Wallis Currie-Wood, and Evan Roe. The drama follows the shrewd, determined Elizabeth McCord (Leoni). As U.S. Secretary of State, she battles office politics, while driving diplomacy and negotiating global deals.
Elizabeth was once a CIA analyst, who exited that post for ethical reasons. She later returned to public life, at the request of President Conrad Dalton (Carradine). He values her apolitical leanings, knowledge of the Middle East, flair for languages, and unconventional thinking. Elizabeth is married to Henry (Daly), a former theology professor who is now an intelligence operative. Together, they’re bringing up three children, which can really test her diplomatic skills.

What do you think? Are you glad that the Madam Secretary TV show has been renewed for a sixth season? Would you have been upset if CBS had cancelled this TV series instead?
Definitely one of the best political based shows on TV. Nothing this good since west wing. Very well rounded and relevant. At the very least it should wrap up with her becoming president but a switch to Madame President would be an awesome option!
Please keep the series going. Best show on TV. I’d love to see it changed from Madam Secretary to Madam President.
However season 6 seemed to get a little bogged down with too much political jargon and less personal drama, which I really like.
I LOVE THIS SHOW: it is smart, timely, and interesting. The acting is excellent and it is relevant. The family dynamics are rich and real. Please give us another 2 seasons at least.
Renew madame secretary but update to madame president
This is my favorite show on network TV. Relevant, sweet, funny and heartbreaking. Everything I expect from a TV drama.Fd
This season’s episodes have been tedious and incredibly preachy… social engineering at its worst. Climate change, inoculations, more climate change, immigration, more climate change. argh. Last week I said I would give it one more week. After this week, I’m finished with the show.
I’ve so enjoyed this show, unfortunately, should Elizabeth get elected President, there goes the name of the show. How about renaming it to Madam President and continue with the great scripts?
Love this show & it’s relatively to what’s happening today… Madam President would be the next move without a doubt.
Why is the Vice President almost never a character on the show? In real life we see Pence all the time.
This is really a great show but the Secretary is one of thwe poorest dressed on televisn. Correct this and will never be cancelled. Same tops every show, same coats every show. Great actress poor desser
Ever since the episode that featured Albright and Clinton I stopped watching.
I’d like to see it on the air long enough for her to run for President and win, and change the name of the show to Madam President.
Absolutely there needs to be seasons 6, 7, 8, etc. I think you get where I’m going. I hate politics, except on this show. I love Tea Leoni and Tim Daly. I like the others too, but am sorry I don’t remember their names, just their characters. Like I’m watching the show from 3/24/19 and so disappointed Tea isn’t on it, but as long as she’s on the rest, I’ll live. I like the storyline about the measles, but still miss her. I know everyone has their own tastes and ideas and this show may not be for everyone. But… Read more »
Please keep madam secretary forever
Please renew Madam Secretary… love Tea’s acting… very smart and always to the point. She deserves another season.
