Hold onto your favorite Hawaiian shirt for the 2020-21 season. CBS just announced they’ve renewed Magnum PI for a third season.
A reboot of the 1980s series, the procedural follows Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), a decorated former Navy SEAL who repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. The cast also includes Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang, and Amy Hill.
The second season of Magnum PI is averaging a 0.64 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.53 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 28% in the demo and up by 9% in viewership.
The two-hour second season finale airs this Friday, May 8th.

I have watched both seasons and had them recorded I watched season 2 episode 19 and they said the 2 hr finale was coming up but was not recorded for me on direct tv. How do I get the 2 hr finale to watch??

This show is so much fun to watch. The relationship between Magnum and Higgins is very well done. You want to see them together but they can’t seem to make it happen. I never watched the original Magnum PI so I don’t compare the two seroes/ I hope that this series continues and that Thomas and Higgins get married.
Yes I am looking forward to season 3. Love it. Watched Tom Selleck and now Jay Hernandez and enjoy both. Love the crossover with Noelani and Kamekona. Bring on season 3!!!
I rarely like rehashed versions of great series. Although not up to the original, that is a nearly impossible bar to clear. That said, I really enjoy this show and especially Higgie.

I never miss an episode…it’s my favorite show! I was worried the reboot would be lame, but Jay, Perdita, and the rest of the gang have proven they can stand on their own.
Very glad the show is renewed. All the actors click together very well, especially Magnum and Higgins. There are good police stories plus humor. Looking forward to many more seasons. Hate the fact that Hawaii five-o has been cancelled.
